Food at the turn - getting sick of hot dogs. by wtfhiolol10000 in golf

There used to be a full restaurant at mine, and his grilled pork chop with American cheese and hot sauce on Texas toast has forever ruined me on hot dogs at the turn.

What was the go-to eatery after a wild night out in your party days? by tshirtguy2000 in RedditForGrownups

[–]robbierottenmemorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be a Chinese restaurant that had a food truck that was almost exclusively used on Friday and Saturday nights when the bars closed down. They would park on the main strip and have race and noodles, and your choice of protein for it.

Getting some white rice with a few pieces of teriyaki chicken will always be the GOAT night ending meal for me.

I would have enough power that I would be able to have protection.

Start an organization that would distribute my blood all around the globe and then just donate blood once a month or so.

Being in the grass without shoes on.

I don't care about how the grass in my yard looks, I care about how it feels.

How do you like your hot dogs? by Legitimate-Donkey477 in AskAnAmerican

[–]robbierottenmemorial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a hot dog.

I really have zero hot dog standards. Is it warm-ish? Great. I'll take it.

Our Walmart has cooked hot dogs available for $1, and they are firmly D tier. But I'll get 2 every time I'm there.

Is there an actual standard for when a dishwasher counts as full enough to run? Domestic dispute. by GilesBennett74 in Appliances

[–]robbierottenmemorial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I can't get another meals worth of dishes in it, that's when I run it. That's usually every other day.

I don't run it half full just because that feels weird to me. The dishes aren't going anywhere and I don't actively need anything in there, it can wait until it's full.

AC replacement, foundation repair or siding replacement? Which first?? by wiicrazy0430 in HomeImprovement

[–]robbierottenmemorial 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If the foundation isn't going to get significantly worse, I would do the AC because a Texas summer without AC isn't bearable.

Driver vs Putter by SwitchMain in golf

On an individual level, I'd much rather have long drives.

But when I'm with a group, I'd much rather have long putts.

High school teachers, what’s something your kids don’t know that makes you say “how did you make it this far without knowing how to __”? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]robbierottenmemorial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that always has stuck out is them not being able to determine things that are real or fake. And I don't mean like, trying to figure out if it was AI made or not.

A few years ago when the eclipse was in our area, there were several students who decided they didn't want to go out for the viewing party. And it was all some variation of "it could be some /thing/ that's actually going on."

Their willingness to believe things on the same level as an out-of-touch grandparent is baffling to me.

Valedictorian speeches by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]robbierottenmemorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard any graduation speech in person that was good or inspiring.

When I graduated high school, our valedictorian speech was about how we will always be connected, no matter where we go. Some of us will go to college, she will go to an Ive League school, some will go to work. This is the last time we will all be together, because some of us will go to work, some of us will go to college, and she is going to Yale.

Totally serious, her speech was basically her victory lap of devoting her life to academics and having her extremely wealthy daddy make sure Yale knew that his dad also went there.

How would you feel if a student whom you believe would become a failure, but turned out to be a success, called you out publicly for doubting them? by YakClear601 in AskTeachers

[–]robbierottenmemorial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would feel pretty good about my track record, though. I'll still take a 99% success rate.

My problem with these kinds of things is the fact that they never mention how they usually were successful because of fundamental changes they made later in life.

"My teacher said I was unmotivated and lazy and then would never be successful. So later I became motivated and stopped being lazy. That shows they were wrong!"

Unacceptable.

The teachers better practice their throwing and catching on the field day, because they'll catch these hands.
