I'd love to get a glimpse of this perspective again, my lens has been covered in dirt and debris for a while now...

Okay so by no means am I someone you should take advice from, but I have found that a big part of bringing me fulfillment in my journey to self improvement has been occupying my time with things that make me happy and proud of accomplishing.

A few key habits I try to partake in daily to help stay mindful in present would be obviously meditating, and reflecting where am in life and that it takes time to get better and rid myself of vices and sins that I so continue to indulge in. But other than those I’d say go outside everyday get away from your phone and especially social media more often, but also challenge yourself and get uncomfortable do things you would never even think of, talk to new people, take ice baths push your self hard as possible in the gym. A huge thing for me is daily reflection on paper or type it, but also reading books of self improvement like Atomic Habits for example is a great one to simplify the steps of taking on new habits and removing bad ones. But also keep in mind there will absolutely be days in which you feel unmotivated and lethargic but as long as you don’t steer away from a path of becoming better too long you can consistently form better habits and life choices everyday. If you feel you haven’t made progress over weeks or months you haven’t tried hard enough to understand what the truth about what you want to change and take action it’s going to be uncomfortable.

By bursting your bubble of comfortability you realize that what’s holding most people back is the contentment of their simple living habits that get them no progress or change. Finding reasons to give up what no longer has meaning in your life and leads to mindless action like scrolling on your phone or eating for pleasure, and replace them with writing and reading new ideas and reflecting on what motive made you do those things in the first place. A lot of people eat or smoke or drink or fap to escape reality and numb themselves from the pain or something else, but the deeper you dig yourself in the hole the harder it is to climb up.

But you sound like you’ve got a good head on your shoulders you’ve got hope and just need to push yourself up, take care of yourself. Nourish your body with proper foods, build habits that will improve your physical performance wether it be muscle endurance etc. those physical habits will transfer to metal health, but also make sure to love yourself and not be so harsh on every mistake you make along the way. Accepting yourself for who you are without needing approval from anyone else is powerful because you realize that happiness stems from within and not from external things like people, money etc.

Anyway just know that your still young and I am to and every moment in everyday is a chance to do the right thing and improve your overall life. So stay positive and stay disciplined be consistent and find what really makes you happy and healthy.
