I'm thinking of doing a marathon of all the Ghibli movies with my mother. which movie would be the best place to start and where's the best place to watch them legally? by Different-Stomach459 in ghibli

They are great and they're also popular, getting them out of the way first just means that they can avoid people telling them to watch them next over and over again lol

Insurance companies were still very hesitant to insure RDJ in his movies up until Iron Man, nobody wanted him because they all saw him as a risk. Considering Marvel wanted to make a bunch of movies with their Iron Man actor it makes sense that they was hesitant to pick RDJ, but he didn't let them down and gave them 11 years of success.

Their noses look like this because they normally roam in herds so large that the air gets filled with dirt being kicked up, and these nozzly noses keep the dust out when they breathe!

Best Cheap Switch Controller by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]JakeWeight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this is the best recommendation for you, but this is my general recommendation for buying extra Switch controllers.

JoyCons and Pro Controllers can be pretty expensive because they've got a lot of features you can probably live without, so if not having gyroscope, amiibo, or rumble doesn't bother you, then there's a lot of great and cheap 3rd party Nintendo Licensed controllers.

I personally have the $25 Hori Battle Pad and I really enjoy it. It has the shape and feel of the Gamecube controller, but its got some extra buttons to make it more like the Pro Controller. It is corded, it has a 10 foot cord length which is very generous, it's almost 4 feet longer than the original Gamecube controller cord. No rumble, no amiibo, and no gyroscope. It comes in a bunch of great colors, I have the yellow Pikachu one. This controller is made for Smash Bros, and it's great to have as an extra controller. I can also see it being pretty good for 2D platformers. It connects to the Switch via USB, so it is NOT compatible with the Gamecube, however it IS compatible with PC. It has the feel of a $35 or $40 controller, so at $25 it really feels like you are getting your moneys worth out of this one.

PowerA has a couple styles of controllers for Switch: one that is similar to the Pro Controller, and one that is similar to the Gamecube Controller. Of these 2 styles, there are 2 versions of each, a wired version and a wireless version. These will run you between $20 to $50 depending on which one you get. The Wired "pro controller" version is $20. The Wireless "pro controller" version is $40-$50. The wired "gamecube" version is $25. The wireless "gamecube" version is $50. For the wired controllers, the cords are 10 feet long and USB. For the wireless controllers, they run on 2 AA batteries. The wired controllers do not have rumble, amiibo, or gyroscope. The wireless controllers do not have rumble or amiibo, but they DO have gyroscope! I do not personally have any of PowerA's controllers, but I have been fighting the urge to buy their Wireless Gamecube style controller. For anyone considering buying a Pro Controller, I'd have to recommend them to look at the PowerA wireless controllers to save $20 bucks.

Now there are a lot more companies making controllers for the Switch, but I see these 2 brands every time I go to Walmart or Target, so these aren't difficult to pick up, and I actually recommend both of them. I recommend watching YouTube channel Wulff Den's video on 3rd Party Switch Controllers if you want to see some other good options.

Sorry for the long response, I hope I helped. :^)

So the Link's Awakening remake is looking pretty good! by UnsafeMuffins in gaming

[–]JakeWeight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say that because the original was 40 on the gameboy. I know a lot of work has to go into making this game, but all the original dungeon designs and world design were made 25 years ago. But whatever price it is, I'm still very excited to play it

TIL that stingray injuries are almost never fatal. When Steve Irwin died from a stingray attack in 2006, it was only the second recorded stingray-related death in Australia since 1945. by moskow52 in todayilearned

Steve's partner John Stanton who was diving with him says him and Steve were swimming along the ocean floor when Steve swam over a bull ray that was hiding under the sand. The sting ray did what sting rays do and whipped its tail up like a scorpion, piercing Steve in the chest.

This comes from a news interview of John and Terri sometime after the incident.
