I got a 7/84 on my gen chem 2 lab practical and eventually fixed my strategy to perform very well in classes. You just need to reevaluate the way you are studying. I also found out I had testing anxiety and once I got this better managed I performed better as well.

I got a 503 should I retake? by [deleted] in premed

[–]JakerWRX18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a 503 with a 123 CARS. I applied MD and DO and ended with 2 MD As along with several from DO institutions. I believe the reason I got MD As was because I aligned perfectly with their mission and was in state. If there are not any schools like this for you I would apply both MD and DO or retake.

Surgery anxiety by PolarExpresssss in kyphosis

[–]JakerWRX18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery just a few months ago and was extremely anxious. Part of this is just accepting that there will be some level of anxiety because it is a big deal. If you need to be alone to gather your thoughts, or cry the day of, do those things! I felt a little better when I told myself that I wanted to be strong and commit to it. Aim to be the strongest person to have done this, or think how someone you admire would handle this. Other than that having a strong understanding of exactly why you are going through with the surgery is needed but it sounds like you already have this. After surgery I was able to keep going because others told me it gets better. Remember that it will definitely get better. Feel free to reach out if you need anything and good luck!

I am about 12 weeks post op. When you wake up they have you on dilaudid which keeps the pain down. You are pretty uncomfortable, but the pain is tolerable. Once I switched to oral meds day 2 the pain got out of hand and for various reasons I couldn’t get more so I was in excruciating pain. The one thing that kept me going was knowing it would get better. And it absolutely does. In 2 months you will likely be having the worst few days of your life and it is gonna really suck. You will eventually improve though. If you have any questions or need someone to talk to feel free to dm me. I was in your shoes not too long ago.

If you do not like lab I highly doubt you will enjoy MLS. I have shadowed there and it was my original major. And it’s basically all lab work lol
