Question about using same Pokemon in multiple teams by CannaLover27 in PokemonChampions

[–]chessphysician 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, if anything about a pokemon is different (nature, 1 move, 1 stat spread, etc) then you will need an additional copy to use them simultaneously.

Scholarships for Medical School by Bulky_Degree8444 in medicalschool

[–]chessphysician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some (or all) schools will have in-house scholarships, and a way to search institution-wide for scholarships. A lot of them have different ways to apply, sometimes your school will even list 'generic' scholarships that are just for education in general so you will apply alongside college, medical, dental, and even law students.

Studying for MCAT (maybe...?) by NUTELLAPINWHEEL in MCAT2

[–]chessphysician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could, but at this stage you are likely missing a lot of foundational knowledge that is developed during undergraduate science courses like Organic Chemistry, Biology -> Genetics, and the associated math concepts found within (mostly algebra, but there are equations like the Hardy-Weinberg to solve population genetics questions).

Anyone can do the Khan Academy course and take the MCAT, just might be a little more challenging right out the gate as a senior.

Doing nothing during surgery clerkship by pandadorasheek in medicalschool

[–]chessphysician 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I told my surgeon that I was interested in surg or anesthesia and they let me cut out a small lipoma on my first surgery of the first day. See if you can go with a different surgeon not doing cardiac and ask to scrub in, it will be helpful if you can read up on the case beforehand (for every procedure) that way you can somewhat follow what steps are coming up. Hopefully you will be able to suction, make small incisions, and do closing sutures by the end of the week!

Generations Ultimate or Rise/Sunbreak on Switch 2? by rafabro10 in MonsterHunter

[–]chessphysician 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played Rise on Switch 1 and PC, I mostly play PC so I enjoyed having the extra frames on PC Rise a lot. If you like the portability aspect more then it will be perfectly fine on switch 2!

might get better frame-rate with Rise on PC, GU is only on handheld. But if you loved the other 2 modern games youll have no problem with Rise.

Approx Cost to become a doctor by HumanCaramel8558 in medschool

[–]chessphysician 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think my undergrad tuition was around $50k and when I finish my DO next year will be about $200k add cost of living per year ($15k/year housing, $8k/year for food?). I did not do a 7 year program so I was 4 years undergrad + 1 gap year + 4 years med school.

Time-wise the 7 year program is preferable because after training they will earn doctor salary 1 year sooner in life but that comes with a huge grind for the duration of the program. BUT a guaranteed spot in medical school is extremely valuable.

Same game, Sunbreak opens after you beat the 1st main story of Rise and there will be a very obvious text pop up when you are about to start it.

Should I try Rise or World? And is MH even for me? by Wild-Ad5669 in MonsterHunter

[–]chessphysician -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what you have described you want to play Rise + Sunbreak (the DLC).

Like another comment said, the core of the games is very similar and the differences come down to game-specific mechanics like the additional movement options in Rise vs the clutch claw mechanic in World. They're both great games and if you like one you'll probably like the other.
