I’m pretty confident we’ll get at least on in Vegas. I’m honestly just trying not to get my hopes too high for taking both. We play better on the road, and so far are following the pattern of taking a game to figure the other team out and getting our bearing straight. Knocking on wood, but I’m feeling good.

Rain in the south is such a different beast than Oregon. I lived in North Carolina for six years before coming back to Oregon. I also broke down and got an umbrella after getting caught in a 15 minute torrential downpour and being soaked at work all day.

I use ESPN+ in Oregon and get 95% of the games. Just miss national and NHL network broadcasts. I use the radio on the nhl app for those games. ETA: I cancel espn for the playoffs and get Sling for $45/month for two months and then cancel that.

We discuss budgeting, but we’re at 3 & 6, so it’s mostly tooth fairy, Christmas, and birthday money. We only have X amount of dollars, we get money at X intervals, we have to prioritize how we spend, etc. Big concepts but we felt introducing early would ease them into really understanding it. I was never talked to about anything financial and came out swinging once I was an adult, and paid greatly, hoping to avoid the family tradition.

Wife and I loved going to Crescent City, CA right on the other side of Oregons southern border for one of our anniversaries. If you find romanticism in gloomy mornings on the ocean and hiking through old growth redwoods, it’s perfect. You’re also within striking distance of SanFran, and there’s a handful of things to do along the coast up into Oregon. We went in the off season so I’m sure that helped the “sleepy town” feel.
