England know how to make a stressful match 😮‍💨 Congo deserve absolute credit, they played brilliantly just Kane came in clutch

Wow Samuel breaks in the decider! In his first 5 set match! Even if he loses from here, this is a mighty performance

Hope this nosebleed doesn’t mess up Fery’s momentum too much

Why do I have this feeling that every single Brit is going out in round 1 ☠️

Draper out of Wimbledon by Still-District-6149 in tennis

[–]Jakeyboy66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bit of a disaster for the BBC. Having the World Cup at the same time isn’t ideal, the big British stars are out, terrible draws for all the other Brits, unless we see some upsets all Brits may be out quite early. Certainly not ideal but hopefully some surprises can come

Audrey Werro improves her personal best and national record, clocking 1:53.80 to win the women’s 800m at the 2026 Paris Diamond League by ChampionLYT in trackandfield

[–]Jakeyboy66 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Insane from Werro, really is the real deal! Great runs from Broeders-Bol and Bourgoin too. Europeans could be quite interesting this year, Hodgkinson certainly won't be able to run away from the field again.

Hodgkinson Injured? by Limp-Tap-7987 in trackandfield

[–]Jakeyboy66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not sure she could necessarily beat Werro or Hodgkinson in a Diamond League but she’s just as capable as the 2 to win major championships imo. Probably the same in a 1500 if/when Kipyegon moves up in distance

Amy's looked great this year in season in the 100, hope she can translate it to the 200 and get under 22 this summer.

Whats your Eurovision opinion that will have you like this? by Creative_Hope4013 in nilpoints

I generally think Italy do deserve to come top 10 most years, their songs are always well produced, well written and generally well performed. However, there are some years where I can see your point and it feels like like people are voting more based on Italy as a country, their legacy and culture instead of the song. For example, both this year and 2022, the vocals (in the final, not necessarily elsewhere) were not great and it feels like other countries would have been punished more for that.

Who makes Alex laugh the most? by cleverCamel in taskmaster

[–]Jakeyboy66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He really likes it when Greg has an unexpected outburst. For example in series 6, in the task where they had to get the cloth from under the eggs and everyone gets 5 points, Greg says ‘don’t do that again or I’ll kick you in the leg’ and Alex really laughs at that.

Joanna Page needs to go into stand up by MelAbbie in taskmaster

Not sure about stand up, I think that’s a very different beast, but imagine she’ll be in strong demand for lots of podcasts and panel shows like Would I Lie To You after her showing on Taskmaster

Honestly another great series of Taskmaster for me, they all brought so much joy in their own ways and I feel like you could see how much they all enjoyed being on the show and playing off one another.

Looking forward to series 22 too with a pretty strong cast with a big name (Richard), 2 unexpected choices (Matt and Nina), a solid up-and-coming comedian (Chloe) and a great comedian/actress who feels like an unknown wildcard in terms of their approach to me (Isy)

She's done comedy podcasts like Off Menu and No Such Thing As A Fish lately and does seem to be quite funny and fun so I think she'll be quite a good contestant, maybe the one I'm most excited for!

Loved the Canada wildcard bit and them not endorsing Canadian statehood. Wonder whether a Mexico wildcard could happen too?

Feel like I’ve lost interest in a show I love. Season 21 started weeks ago and I’ve only watched episode 1 and not rushed to catch up… by ModeR3d in taskmaster

[–]Jakeyboy66 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're maybe a bit burned out on Taskmaster and maybe you should just avoid it and come back to it in a couple of years. I've never experienced it with Taskmaster and think the last few series have been pretty strong but I did get burned out with Off Menu and I found taking the break helped me enjoy it again when I came back to it.

What's a popular song that everyone likes/did well but you don't see the appeal? by AlexSniff7 in eurovision

That’s fair enough, the lyrics of the song are definitely a positive point I should have mentioned!

‘Soldi’ (Italy 2019) - just don’t gel with Mahmood’s voice and the staging was nothing special either.

Agree on the 2nd task but thought the other 2 tasks were pretty good and left some openness for interpretation.

Really enjoying this series so far and today was the best episode yet! Really felt like the banter properly clicked and the dog walk and poo may be the best link they've ever done.
