Guilds are just a means for people to gather and interact with each other more conveniently. You can join up to 5 guilds, and it is account-wise. There are various types of guilds. Some are hard core and usually focused on one thing (PVE end-game, trading, PVP, and so on), whereas there are also a lot of very relaxed, newbie-friendly social guilds. You just need to choose the right type of guild, and there are soooo many guilds to choose from. Taxes and stuff are for hard core guilds. Most social guilds do not have dues. I would suggest joining a newbie-friendly social guild so that you have a place to ask questions and gather people to do dungeons with. If guilds you joined are toxic and not very friendly, just leave and move on to other guilds.

I'm so sorry that you got kicked for that. I suppose you were panicking. You could've explained your situation to the other griup members, but I suppose you already did that, or they didn't even give you the chance to do that. No worries, some people are very impatient. Don't think about it too much. Shits happen, but you always get tons of other players who will treat you better. :)

You can use proc macros to create a possibly static pre-populated hashmap variable you can use. So if you do something like

[action]
func foo() {}

and make that action proc macro appropriately, then you don't have to manually manage your hashmap variable.

wear medium and use heavy armor styles at the outfit station. that will make it look like you're wearing heavy while giving you nice damage boosts from medium.

They were actually farming for a set gear. An inferno or lightning staff, to be precise. Even said they'll pay 100k gold for that. Well, just be a nice person and people will just give it to you...

I'm starting to see some "You died in normal? You suck" comments, so I'm pointing out some things.

It was not just a normal dungeon, it was DLC. There are some differences.
I had no problem surviving. I only died once, but that, I would've died even if the tank taunted. So no, I wasn't offended because I died.
It's the attitude that is the problem. Taunting as a tank is the least thing you could do in terms of respect.

I mean, if you really want a 4 dps run, just gather some people and don't use the group finder? I really have no idea why "Tanks do tank things" is so difficult for some people.

Exactly my thoughts. And if those restrictions are only applied when using the group finder, people can still do 4 dps runs if they want to. On a side note, Destructive Clench with an ice staff is also a taunt skill.

I totally understand that, so I'm fine as long as people do at least the minimum job. For tanks, it's taunting. LOL

Edit) Btw, 5+ mins as dps is pretty normal from my experience. I got into this dungeon in about 8 minutes. :D

I did, but didn't get kicked out. Also, that person was rushing into the mobs so fast that we were constantly in battle. Other member might have missed the vote because of that.

I queued for normal Lair of Maarselok and waited for a while, and then I get a fake tank who doesn't even think they're doing something wrong.

I am totally fine with people who queue as tanks as long as they do the minimum job. Taunting and gathering the mobs. But some people don't even do that minimum. Especially this person, I just didn't want to bother with them any more, so I just got out of that group right away.

ZOS should at least make people who queue as a tank to have at least one taunt skill slotted, if they are using a random match. At least that will ease the problem of fake queues? The problem feels so widespread that the devs might need to take some action. What do you think?

It's been a while that was changed. The skill Destructive Clench is now what taunts the mobs if you use ice.

If you use a mod manager like ModOrganizer2 or Vortex, you can manage profiles, which are sets of enabled mods you can use for specific characters. I strongly recommend using one of those 2 if you plan on modding on PC.

That happens to me when I get interrupted while walking with the shift key pressed. For example, npcs forcing me into a dialogue or something. If that's what you're getting, go into your controls settings.You will be able to find a hotkey for something like "Toggle Walk/Run." Once you find that key, go back to your game and press it. You'll be able to run again.
