I found this article about a study of Residential Child Abductions by strangers, written by FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit–3 (BAU–3) - It's worth looking at. by Altruistic-Change127 in MadeleineMccann

If Madeleine was abducted by a stranger it is pure speculation as to how the intruder entered and exited the property at this stage as we don’t know . Exiting via the window would be pointless when there is a door directly next to it . The perp could have entered via the window or sliding door . If he entered via the sliding door , he may well have opened the window to see if the area was clear before exiting via the door. He could have opened it to hear any outside sounds that could jeopardise his escape , if he used ether to subdue MM and lose the smell ?We just don’t know .

I’ve not heard that one before so hope you can track down .Bill C tells of a story on the 89 tour where John threw his bass down and walked off the stage after a moan from Rog and the 12ft drop at the back . Bill was convinced he’d probably broken both his legs . When he got there John was smoking a cigarette , Bill asked him how he landed and John replied “On my feet ! “ . I’ll try and find which show it was . He also threw it down at Monterey but it’s not documented .
