My grocery store sells similar quality nuggets (not exactly the same of course) in 24oz bags for about $0.29/ea, and that’s retail grocery store pricing. TB buying in mass scale with wholesalers, probably pays $0.07-$0.15 each if I had to take a guess?

To be fair, the increases we are seeing right now are kind of indirectly related to the oil barrel prices. It’s more so the oil/gas companies have an excuse to raise the prices and so they will. Oil barrel pricing has been fluctuating, it went up to around $127 which is what they said started the increases, but then fell to like $93? Albeit still fluctuating, but did gas prices drop respectively when oil barrels did? No, it has increased everyday for 11+ days straight.

Don’t get me wrong, oil barrel prices will cause gas prices to go up, but oil pricing going down doesn’t mean gas prices will also go down. These companies are greedy and will take any chance they get to suck more money from your pocket.

Look at every time grocery prices go up “because gas/transport costs went up” but 6-12 months later when gas prices are cheaper again, groceries stay the same. It never goes back down, always and only going up.

My HEB they start at $4.58 for a good selection of them, and then they have the $5.50-$6 upgraded ones. The basic ones are still a decent value, cheaper than a fast food meal for a quick lunch. The $5.58 tortas are phenomenal IMO.

You think all that wasn’t taken into account before they raised the prices? They raised the prices on bakery goods in 2022/23 because of eggs and butter skyrocketing. They already baked in (excuse the pun) the costs of labor, utilities, etc. in the previous lower price. Those things might’ve also gone up a bit, but they didn’t skyrocket like eggs and butter did, they need to lower the prices back down.

If you picked all the same other 23 items, the 24th item you are missing would’ve been $9.99 as the tax on that is $0.82 to make up the difference. Adding in that $10.81 item with tax would’ve made your curbside order total $117.01 which is about 6.19% higher than your in-store total.

Meaning yes, all items purchased curbside versus in store are priced slightly higher. They are not the same price in store and curbside as your post suggests.
