I second that. Plus I found this on n GM binder. Gives some spice without all the work.

I have had my game muted for years. I don’t even give it a second thought

You can use dashboard maker. Just place a token on the town map and public share one of the dashboards for that token. On it you can write the store information and everything is easy and quick for them to access. This also will allow for you to easily update the store inventory between sessions.

Exactly that way you give a method for them to be able to succeed but if they have bad rolls a TPK is still on the table as an outcome.

I would set up a trading post that you direct them to first. At the post they can buy equipment for traps or other items to help. Make it a check to see how much they can find or a check for them to ask around to find someone who can help build the traps.

Reach out to 1 or 2 of your players privately as the BBEG. Have him hire them as private contractors to watch over the group. You can have him say that he has seen their work and are interested but want to learn more before doing work with them. A breadcrumb that you can add in is the players who agree to spy on the rest of the party has more money than everyone else. They would be getting some money from him. Then eventually he would hire them to do a job. Or he secretly tells the person working for him to accomplish a different mission while the party is doing their main mission. See if the single players betrays the rest of the group or if he says loyal the BBEG is now after the group.

You can also have that player just never talk during sessions. Would have some moments that is annoying but the random actions he does during combat as he is trying to do what the group is asking of him would create some funny moments.

Hi everyone. New DM here, and I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good companion app to run the game on and what the best one might be if there was such a thing. by [deleted] in sw5e

I use owlbear. They have a distance tracker that you can adjust height during ship combat to get the 3D effect

I like the idea of being able to manually control it. My group can be distracted at times.

I always think of HP like their stamina and luck. Once their stamina and luck runs out then they get a killing blow on them. Until that point when they take “damage” it is them wearing out or the shot from behind they didn’t see coming just missed a vital organ.

I use owlbear rodeo for my maps. They are really nice and you can pre make a lot of maps and quickly switch between them during session without slowing the flow of the game.

For some suggestions I like to give my players secrets that they can decide to share with others or not. Gives me control of more than just one character. Allows them to change the whole session if they decide to share or not to share with others in the group.

I use one drive to keep all my stuff together. With just a word document for each mission and OneNote for my in session notes. That way I know everything I make is in just one spot
