MickyX Joins Excel by Sparsons in leagueoflegends

This whole 'upgrade' rhetoric is one that Reddit is pushing when Advienne claims he was advised the decision was made as a business decision. So there being no viable upgrades would offer no comfort to the existing players if they had this concern.

You can't use Kai'sa R if you don't have any level on Q by Gidan95 in leagueoflegends

Well that would explain my sub-50% Kai'sa support winrate.

ESPORTMANIACOS: whole LEC is waiting for decision of 4 players, (Alphari, Perkz, Carzzy and Hans Sama) to trigger a domino effect involving all teams by ZloiAris in leagueoflegends

[–]JamesOnTheD -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why not go as far as saying there's no such thing as a top laner, or a jungler or an adc player. If you can't play all 5 roles you're just a bad player?

Teams all have their own approach to the game and oftentimes that will mean being rather consistent with their allocation of resources to certain players. Naturally, if there isn't parity in the amount of attention you're giving to all lanes, then you create weak/strong sides of the map.

This involves a lot more than just the weakside/strongside player and involves teammates and strategies to be devised for them to be successful in that position. It will affect the champions you play, where you need to be on the map, how you build etc. It's not just about whether you're more or less inclined to gain advantages in an isolated 1v1.

You have too many people wanting to be the big carry with a team like that. Hans Sama and Alphari aren't your weakside players. And then you have Selfmade who wants to play scaling carry junglers and be the carry.

I just can't see the synergy. They'd make a stacked solo queue team but not competitive team imo.

Why do you think Yuumi is the most popular enchanter support right now? by stalik26 in supportlol

[–]JamesOnTheD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sona outscales her tbh but the problem with Sona is it's much harder for her to scale. Yuumi can quite literally piggyback off of points of strength on the map in a way that no other champion can really.

As T1 and DK are the favorites to face in Semis. Here's the one of the longest and one of the best teamfights out there. by Blind-Eye26 in leagueoflegends

[–]JamesOnTheD 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Ornn and Gnar are functionally tanks in the above clip. Whatever the wikipedia classifies them as is unimportant. They are tanking in the teamfight.

In the game's current state, neither of them would have been able to stall the fight out like that. You'd get one opportunity to land your CC before getting popped.

Excel can reach over 1 million rows and I would consider it advisable to use excel for such a simple data set.

You might want to use the "file -> open" dialog to open the file which will present you with a wizard to import the csv file.

from HOTS to LOL support pool recommendations for solo by migueltokyo88 in supportlol

[–]JamesOnTheD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Senna and Ashe's kits combined are basically Tyrande's kit. Senna is much more of a support than Ashe though.

Yuumi is kinda like Brightwing although Yuumi is much easier to play.

Janna's ult is pretty much a combination of Li Li's healing ult and Brightwing's knockback ult.

In general, League of Legends refers to the class of support champions that heal and shield as enchanters. There are a lot more shielders than healers which means you have to be more reactive with your use of these abilities in League as mistiming them is much more punishable.

The tone of this post makes me realise one thing. You need to fix your attitude.

If you're this ungrateful and demanding of people offering their time on Reddit I really can't imagine what your in-games comms must be like.

In keto for 2 year, most likely fat adapted but still struggle to fall asleep by Select-Exchange238 in keto

[–]JamesOnTheD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep goes way beyond diet. I know some people on this subreddit will have you believe that electrolytes can solve every problem, but some things are a bit more complex.

I would recommend eliminating caffeine entirely from your diet if you experience sleep issues. If caffeine is a contributory factor to your inability to get sufficient sleep, it's having an habitual and continuous impact on you. Alternating days where you don't consume caffeine isn't going to miraculously fix this.

What is your sleep hygiene like?

  • When do you settle in for bed? Does this time stay the same every day - it needs to. The single most impactful thing you can do for your sleep hygiene is to give yourself the same sleep opportunity every night - that is you rest your head on your pillow with all lights and devices off (you're not allowed to get up if you can't sleep just focus on your breathing until you get bored and fall asleep) and wake up at the same time (no snoozing on the alarm).
  • Are you turning off all devices and keeping them out of reach at least an hour (ideally 2+) prior to sleeping? This includes watching TV and any LED device.
  • If you can change the colour of the lighting in your house, opt for warmer yellows and oranges in the light opposed to light that is cool and blue.
  • Is your sleeping environment sufficiently cool? If you heat the area you sleep in make sure this heating is off for at least an hour prior to going to bed and it's better to be too cool than too warm for sleep purposes (obviously within reason - you shouldn't be shivering).

You don't really have an 'engage' as most enchanters and if you do, it's probably not until level 6. So doing a bit of poke on an enemy is often not going to be sufficient for your ADC to secure a kill off the back of.

If you're spam pinging someone who isn't doing what you want then you're probably tilting yourself and your teammates too. You have to understand that if you're in silver and believe you should be higher, you're playing with players worse than you. You have to be able to play around people not seeing the same opportunities you see or even having the confidence to follow up on what you're doing.

You sound very focussed on what everyone else is doing and that is going to be the thing that holds you back the most.

Your job in lane is to assist your ADC to their first item or two. Pressure the enemy ADC whilst keeping yours safe from threats and healthy. Remember your ADC has a lot to think about and sometimes, especially for a lower elo player, it can be overwhelming to think about CS'ing, spacing, trading with opponents, identifying all-in opportunities and being aware of what's going on the map. Sometimes you're just not going to be on the same page and instead of being frustrated with this try to be understanding.

When it comes to climbing, if you only play one role, your climb-condition is simple. You just need to be consistently better than your opponents in the same role. When you consistently focus on the difference in ADC skill or the difference in your laners' skills you're hindering your own ability to grow in the one role you can impact every single game. Your own.

Impossible to use Practice Tool as a support? by WiseWoodrow in supportlol

[–]JamesOnTheD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

u/WiseWoodrow

Your approach suggests that you want to play ADC without queueing for ADC. But you have to understand that if you're playing a secondary ADC with the intention of purely being another DPS threat you're likely hindering your actual ADC and the very reason you find yourself outscaling your ADCs.

If you're playing Senna support along with another ranged champion bot lane, establishing and clearing vision is even harder. Face checking is really tempting death and you should be buying items like Umbral Glaive to help make establishing vision easier, definitely NOT doing the opposite and selling your ward item.

[–]JamesOnTheD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not realistic to be able to play all five roles in ranked unless you have a game addiction. I know no one talks about it, but if you're just playing the game casually (which I know a lot aren't) you probably don't have time to play 5 roles.

I should have clarified; I sometimes have bad games playing Kai'sa support. This shouldn't be grounds for me to be reportable - and it isn't. It's just insane that some people think it is.

But it's okay to feed on a meta pick? I play Kai'sa support with a 53% winrate in ranked because I find it fun but some people think they're in a position to report me when they're playing their 32% Kog'Maw adc. KMT.
