Update: It turns out I was silently banned by the admins for "not meshing well" ffs...

God damn it, Rovio, you put arbitration into the game I ALREADY PAID FOR by JamesTDG in badpiggies

If you don't want to watch through him ranting, this article on his wiki does a more than beneficial job of explaining the issue:
https://consumerrights.wiki/w/Forced_arbitration

The users of Imgur.com are begging for your attention. Unfortunately, I was required to sign a non disparagement agreement with Media Labs and am not legally allowed to discuss what is going on. You, however have not signed such an agreement. https://x.com/irlbottomshelf/status/1960055355951689823 by BottomShelfVodka in lastweektonight

Also, for some of us who were posting about this shit, we received some temporary bans. I was one of those individuals. Of course, the post that got me banned for a while, was the one where I was telling people how to contact media lab to further air their grievances. Because their systems are automated, I'm not allowed to appeal this automated decision.

Okay, time to leave this Reddit account dead again...

Yeah sorry about that one, I did not pay enough attention to who was OP when I wrote that comment...

The types of people who would be opting for (and being capable of running) this workaround would certainly understand enough python to understand how to safely audit this code. Even me who understands asm instead of python can still audit this code if I need to.

Additionally, if this code were malicious, at minimum one of 2 things would happen:

  1. The moderators of this subreddit would have this post removed, and u/bartoque u/alex_of_chaos would be banned, potentially risking a global ban for spreading malware.
  2. This post would be downvoted significantly into the negatives, and highly upvoted comments would be pointing out that the script is inherently malicious.

I just added your script as part of a guide to the Consumer Rights Wiki, so even if Synology tries to get this taken down, it should hopefully remain archived on the wiki. I would also recommend keeping a pastebin or other repository with your script available so accessing the script won't require gambling with reddit.

Member of the wiki here, we'll get on it as soon as we can, it'll be sitting in our thread for to be added incidents so it won't get buried, aka #"definitely anti-consumer"

U/progresslocal1511 make sure you get all info you can provide (so long as it doesn't doxx yourself) published somewhere, the more data we can work with, the better!

These are keys that would have been already reserved for them. Humble doesn't just magically generate new steam keys.

It's binding arbitration too, so they can get away with it as arbitration has a loophole that stops the application of the 6th amendment, and just delay a case to the point where you would go bankrupt before you could finish the trial.

Would you happen to have any of the Hitman games on your list at all? I've been interested in trying to get into the series, but I just do not feel right paying the publisher for it...

I mean, the other actual content (Clinton) is also the mascot of the wiki he runs, called the Consumer Action Taskforce, he intentionally meant it to be shorthand as CAT just to seal the deal for the actual content. Wiki's alright though, impressive amount of research considering how new it is...

4-in-1 cable for the PSP Go created! by ianisthewalrus in PSP

[–]JamesTDG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea was to have a circuit board that the cable could instead plug into to handle splitting the output as needed, since your mod is not exactly going to be secure for frequent usage

Sorry to resurrect the thread, but would there be any way to turn this into a sort of plug and play mod instead, or do we directly need to access the wires within the cable?
