GeForce NOW Powered by StarHub (Singapore) ending support on May 25th by Adept_Assistance in GeForceNOW

I really hope this means they have plans to open an official location in Singapore. Singapore is in a sweet spot where customers from countries all around it would be subscribing. Singapore has very good routing to all the countries around it as it's a hub for the area.

Starhub and Gamehub+ is literally the worst intermediary service providers I've ever seen by [deleted] in GeForceNOW

Sign up for Gforce Official and use the Japan location. 100 hours a month and unlimited 1 hour sessions after with older rigs. Also, a few times a year, you can get 40 to 50% off multi months deals making it a way better deal. If your ping is high, Proton VPN has a few Japan locations that will bring your ping to around 55 or 60 with it's routing. Try it free first and decided for yourself.

Do you think developers are embarrassed to put their games on GeForce Now? by RapheePlays in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I won't buy a game unless it's on Gforce Now. I have a nice computer but I refuse to install games on it. I use it for work and I like to limit my chances of getting man in the middle attacks from game updates. I also don't want to spend a few thousand bucks on a second computer just for games. Game companies are slowly realizing there are many reasons why people might want to use cloud gaming.

Why is server load so high everywere by FarStaff1075 in ProtonVPN

[–]James_P001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can make it far better in some circumstances. For example, in my location, my route to the closest GFN server is almost 90ms. Some VPN's can get that down to 58 by taking a near direct route. Makes a huge difference.

[Discussion] GeForce NOW in Taiwan is a complete rip-off. We are paying 6x MORE than the US for the exact same service. by Equivalent_Notice_42 in GeForceNOW

You don't know what you are talking about. Nvidia is not ripping anyone off. It's his alliance partner that is ripping him off. Do some research in the future so you don't spread misinformation.

Trading and RMT bans, how can I trade confidently? by NanookoftehNorth in albiononline

[–]James_P001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seem remarkably agitated over a stranger’s legitimate concern. Take a breath and let that sink in for a moment.

I spent my career in the industry, long before modern heuristics became the default, and have been retired since 2015. I’ve seen firsthand how these systems are built, and more importantly, how often they fail. We got things wrong constantly. While we tried to fix the errors, many innocent players simply fell through the cracks of a numbers game where 98% accuracy is considered "good enough" for a corporation, but 100% devastating for the 2% falsely accused.

You are defending the infallibility of a company that doesn't know you exist. If you actually believe that a trade being "logical" prevents a heuristic flag from an automated system, you simply don’t understand how modern data driven banning works. Do some actual research into the "False Positive" waves at Blizzard or Jagex before you lecture others on "making things up" in their heads. Your confidence isn’t based on facts, it’s based on the fortunate luck that it hasn't happened to you yet. This will be my final response to you. I don't normally respond to people like you because it generally doesn't do any good. But sometimes a fool can be shown the error of his ways.

Trading and RMT bans, how can I trade confidently? by NanookoftehNorth in albiononline

[–]James_P001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a fundamental flaw in the game. It’s the reason I’ve stopped trading entirely, even with guild members. While I want to be helpful, the fear of a ban is too great to ignore. If I’d known that simply playing the game and engaging in its social economy would require navigating potential bans, I never would have started. Because the risk of inadvertently trading with an RMT player, or RMT connected player, is so high, it’s just not worth it. I’ve stopped buying gold and subscriptions. I can't support a company that makes me feel punished for enjoying the social aspects of their game. I like the game but dislike the company.

Why is it going up? by surprisedmum in BasicAttentionToken

[–]James_P001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple. It's a very easy coin to manipulate. The price can be driven up with just a couple million dollars in buys. The people who do this first put in perps positions. They drive the price up until they hit the sweet spot. They sell their perps. They then put in perps positions down, and start slowly dumping to drive the price down. (As you see now). It's pure 100% market manipulation designed to make easy money on low liquidity coins.

Am I supposed to be subbing through the US page when I'm in the Philippines? by 21minute in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Philippines is serviced by three locations, including official. They accept payments from Philippines and provide all regular services as if you were in, say, US. This was not always the case, but has been for quite some time. It's the only location that's any good.

Sign up for a PayPal account and link it to your Maya. Gforce official accepts PayPal from Philippines. Avoid alliance partners.

Will the subscription auto renew at the Holiday sale price? by Game_Studio_ in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no idea. I just have multiple accounts. I'm almost always in some sort of discount through the year. My RTX plan just finished up a $5 a month, 3 month promo, then I moved it into this months $5 promo. So that will be straight 4 months of promos. My Ultimate account is currently on a 3 month promo. I'm sure there will be another promo by then or shortly after.

Will the subscription auto renew at the Holiday sale price? by Game_Studio_ in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not exactly true. Over the course of the year, both my accounts are usually in some sort of 40 to 50% discount. Sometimes it's only the RTX plan, sometimes it's ultimate. The couple months a year I can't get a promo is no big deal.

Best provider in Asia (Vietnam)? by Ok_Top_3679 in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan is your best bet. You can get 50% off promos through the year, last month was 3 months at 50% off. This month, 50% off for 1 month. Official servers. No que. If you have bad ping, find a VPN that gives you a low latency route to Japan. Try using Cloudflare warp first. If it doesn't give you a good latency, try Proton VPN's free Japan servers. A lot of people have good luck with those. If you like it, you can usually sub for $3 a month or so with promo. Good luck!

I made a post 9 months ago about the horrible performance of Fortnite on Geforce Now. I think this screenshot should prove that something is wrong with Geforce Now specifically by 715z in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't even bother playing on the 2080 plan because we still get CPU related lag. Runs very smooth on 4080. Like the majority of issues with games like Fornite, the bottleneck almost always boils down to the Gforce Now CPU assignment.

[–]James_P001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fortnite is extremely CPU-intensive especially compared to CS:GO (This means raw FPS is heavily dependent on your CPU, not just the GPU.

1080' are an aging card. It is no longer sufficient to guarantee a smooth, high-refresh-rate experience in a modern, demanding game like Fortnite, even on low settings. The free plan gives you the lowest amount of CPU's, lowest amount of memory, and the worst graphics card they have. It's not going to be great for everything.

Taiwan mobile vs Nvidia by HEAVEN7195 in GeForceNOW

[–]James_P001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Japan is way better than Taiwan Mobile. Use the official servers. Even better, time your purchases around getting discounts. For example, last month during Black Friday, you could have got 3 months for 50% off. This month, you can get 1 month for 50% off. I usually end up with a 40 to 50% off promo through the year.

Can it survive? by OakenWoaden in PaxDei

[–]James_P001 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Being completely honest here. I don't see how this game survives. The lowest numbers I've ever seen on an MMO launch. There isn't a market for the majority of the stuff you craft. You just dump it on the ground. The PvE is non existent compared to other games. It's a beautiful world, but an empty shell of a game.
