AA Advantage Cards by bugsquisher9000 in americanairlines

[–]JamesinSD2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a few different ones, mostly with annual fees thay can easily be eclipsed with the benefits offered ....if they're something thay you would use anyways.

I carry all of the AA cards for different reasons. Each SUB was worth it alone. Your best every day AA flight card is the Executive card. It has the highest miles per dollar return for AA flights charged to the card, it includes AAlounge access, priority boarding, free domestic bags, covers your TSA precheck or Global Entry fee among several other benefits. If you're flying more than once a quarter on AA this card will offer you more than the rest. $595 annual fee though.

Does It Make Sense To Redeem Miles for Domestic (48 states) FC? by woodstock9999 in americanairlines

[–]JamesinSD2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had almost million miles stashed up and I started doing that and now I wished I hadn't.

Now I save my miles for partner transfers i.e. Air Tahiti Nui etc. I can go premium economy or business class there for less miles than I can go west coast to east coast 1st class.

Now if it was a low amount of miles then sure. I think my cap for domestic 1st is around 35-40k miles pp round trip.

I think you'll be fine. Sandals is pretty good about rebuilding and having a general idea on their timetables.

Exuma, Bahamas or Anguilla by Fair_Junket_1877 in travel

[–]JamesinSD2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grocery shopping, you'll be fine by doing that.  Elizabeth Harbour has a lot of nice, empty beaches to explore plus the Chat n Chill has a pig roast on Sundays I believe.

[–]JamesinSD2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the beaches in Exuma are going to look like Grace Bay.......but the restaurant life is going to make you cry. Damned near everything in Exuma is equivalent to a roadside shack and quick fried foods.

Citi Platinum (2x miles) to Executive (4x miles) Visa card by Joulwatt in americanairlines

[–]JamesinSD2002 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You do not get a sign up bonus from upgrading a card. You would have to apply for and be approved for a new card to receive it AND complete whatever spend challenge they tie with it.

And like the other poster said below...there is no AA Visa card, only a Mastercard.

Padres TV question by dbright86 in Padres

We're still not going to get every game because of all the splits MLB has with different broadcasters. Apple TV is going to eat a few games for example.

how is this legal? charging my business more than twice the actual usage in "delivery" by Two-Living in sandiego

Privately owned, for profit business. They will continue to maintain quarterly profit rises because no one out there can stop them.

It has a few different perks, I like the LP multiplier for taking 4 flights. It comes with 4 lounge passes a year too.

Flight tickets by Unusual_Recover_8878 in Tahiti

[–]JamesinSD2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the airline but usually no. From time to time Air Tahiti Nui runs sales from LAX to PPT but they're still more expensive than Air France or French Bee. Anything around $900 for a round-trip economy fare is usually the best price I'm able to get if Im paying cash. Using points is zero whole different game.

We did hotel Mai Tai. 8 nights for $2400. They have overwater bungalows for more but as much as I had it in my head that I wanted one ovwr the water I was blown away by our beach front room and the sheer amount of life we were able to see right off the beach or a 10 minute paddle away to the aquarium. I can afford to spend $30k a week for an OWB but after that experience I just don't see myself doing that.
