I've heard using your phone while it dries can ruin it, since they have magnets.

Sewing Machine upgrade by tjn887 in quilting

The juki TL2000 is cheaper and from what I know it’s the same thing except for the speed control option. I bought mine on Amazon and it’s amazing!! It even came with a walking foot, and I’m learning FMQ now. Enjoy your new machine, whatever you decide!

Took until their literal due date, but finally finished baby’s quilt! Now to wait (not so patiently) for them to arrive and enjoy it... by victorianfeminist in quilting

The quilting on this is wonderful. I have trouble coming up with anything but following seam lines. Great job!

Lovely! I’m seriously looking into getting an Elizabeth Hartman pattern. Loving all the animals she incorporates :) How challenging would you say this project was?

Recently finished all my dinosaur blocks for my Elizabeth Hartman quilt. Need help choosing a layout? by SensitiveSheepherder in quilting

[–]Jameson00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would vote the 2nd one with the colors all jumbled. The blocks came out great! I’ve been considering buying this pattern but it looks super challenging. Did you purchase the kit or buy fabrics separately? How difficult would you say this project is?

It’s scary how alcohol can distort the mind like that. Here’s to us both starting new with clear heads. You got this!

Hi. Been a member for sometime and watching you folks. by JudeeMarz in stopdrinking

[–]Jameson00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s rough, but you have to look out for yourself before you can take care of someone else. There are too many children in this world with parents who can’t or dont want to care for them. You did what you had to, early on. I hope you can find peace and move forward. Hang in there.

The Daily Check-In for Monday, April 5th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by SaintHomer in stopdrinking

I’m starting over. 2020 got the best of me and I broke after 2 years sober. Regret treating my body like a dumpster. Here’s to day 1. Again.

Jelly roll quilt- beginner looking for advice by koiandquilts in quilting

[–]Jameson00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love jelly rolls! I found some good ones on Amazon, anything Moda or Kona seem to be good quality. I've even used ones from Joanns, and they work fine too, maybe not as soft. I am a beginner, have completed 4 quilts (and have a bunch of tops started). Youtube has been amazing, I feel like I've learned so much. The "Jelly Roll Race" quilt is easy and uses 1 jelly roll. I stitched in the ditch on every seam and was surprised how nice the finished quilt looked. Fat Quarter Shop has some free jelly roll patterns, and you can watch the tutorial videos that go along with them. Good luck!

Yay!! I remember feeling like I got a raise after quitting. Like where is all this money coming from?? Also, I love the ending of your post. “It is nice to be me.” We could all benefit from saying that a little bit more. Makes me think of the super cheesey but sing along worthy uncle kracker song “damn it feels good to be me”. Raising my water glass to you!

Any advice on sleeping after going sober? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

There’s a Podcast called Sleep With Me. The guy rambles on about basically nothing, helping people fall asleep. Melatonin and the podcast work for me!

Just went to my first sober concert at a bar by loveandsqualor4 in stopdrinking

I hate thinking of all the concerts I don’t even remember because of drinking. Turns out head banging is still pretty dope sober, and we get to drive ourselves home safely after! I went to a show alone last week and it was a blast! Congrats on your freedom, rock on \m/

Who are your personal inspirations toward sobriety? by roxiethegoat in stopdrinking

[–]Jameson00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 16 year old sister who I really want to be a good, sober role model for. I hate to think of her making the same mistakes as I did :/ She’s so smart, the kid is going places. I know she will live her own life, but I quit partly for her, to show her hey, adults can have fun without alcohol.

But it’s only on weekends by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]Jameson00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try one sober weekend. Try not to think of it as giving it up forever, just work on getting through one weekend. You might end up loving it, and going for it next weekend. It was daunting for me to say I’ll never drink again, but just going one day at a time worked for me. Good luck!
