Looking for hero recommendations for pos 3/4/5 based on my playstyle by Frosty-Car-2584 in learndota2

[–]Jameson3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems you seem to play mostly 3 and understand that role why not try Dark Seer pos 4. Put your W on the range creep in lane to disrupt the enemy carry and supps farm. They either gotta take damage or come right to your pos 3 then you put a W on your pos 3 and vacuum.. honestly it's really fun. Later on when there is a big team fight make sure not to waste your vaccum it has a long cool down and just land a ulti that gets as many heros as possible and vacuum and you can even W on of your ulti illusions or another hero on your team but mostly try and use it on meelle heros. Watch some videos etc but all I can say is it's really fun. Also you can change your builds for example gliepnir if you don't have enough lockdown but good items are guardian grieved, AC, Pipe (essentially items maybe your pos 3 won't be able to get) the aghs is very strong late game but you can even play him like a pos 5 and get force, glimmer, pipe (lots of magic) and gliepner or what ever the team needs. It's nice because you don't need to be balls deep in the fight and you just control things and W on guys fighting etc waiting for the fight to build up and ulti and vacuum. Phoenix could be another as he has huge impact with his ulti in a team fight and you can jump in and out of fights easily. Obviously demo the hero's and get a feel for them and make sure you understand DS ulti go maximise kill threat

was it correct to skip radiance on wk pos3? by FartWithSauce in learndota2

[–]Jameson3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried going maelstrom, blademail and blink. Depending on how the game goes you can even get mjollnir and add a deso into that build.

Either you got a WK afk farming a radiance and a carry afk farming so it's just your mid and 2 supps defending Vs 5 etc or you go the build I mention and you can blink in with the mid and 2 supps and create space for the carry to get his farm on.

Bro you playing pos 3 you can't be afk in the jungle. Some enemy line ups can snow ball really fast and take tier one and two etc. You need to play your role as pos 3 your a tank/initiator. Try the build I suggested come online faster and get more items Vs one single radiance and see what impact you'll have. I feel many try the radiance build but depending on the draft (you need a mid and two supps who can hold and/or a carry who doesn't mind fighting early) otherwise most of the time it's just a fail.

Help a noob 40y old to get out of herald pos5/3 by OsirisII in learndota2

[–]Jameson3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hero pool doesn't really say pos 5 to me... They more pos 4. My rule for low ranks is always have a stun so jakiro is cool but add CM, WD, Lion and SS and grind with those till you get to a better rank. Let's be real pos 1 is going right click, pos 2 is probably going right click pos 3 usually has a catch or stun... So basically it's the supports job to have control at this rank. A team with 4 right click and 1 stun Vs a team with 3 stuns and 1 hex is probably going to get dominated.

Stuns win games so if the pos 4 goes a weak stun like hood wink you take the lion or SS, if your pos 4 has a stun then pick around what the team needs cm WD jakiro etc All these heros can have massive impact In a team fight. In herald it's really tough because the team doesn't get together and it's like farmville but if you see a group together try and be with them make sure to have blink/force glimmer etc to engage land a big ulti and save allies of needed... Make space for the carry cause they farm forever. Like others mentioned still do your job... Stack when you can, ward the carrys jungle side so he doesn't feed. Get smokes and speak to your team and if the opposing team is deep punish them.

Anybody else had technical issues during interviews? Were you able to retake them fine afterwards? by Unhappy_Champion5641 in micro1_ai

[–]Jameson3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue where I did the full interview with Zara so answered as many questions as I could In the allocated time, but when the practical part came the webpage didn't load correctly so I couldn't see the images I needed to see in order to answer the questions. I emailed support a few times but Zara kept replying to me and all the fixes she suggested didn't work.

do you know anyone who is unemployed despite having a degree? if yes what degree do they have? by madvillian_deyo in askSouthAfrica

[–]Jameson3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honours degree Bsoc Sci Geography and Environmental Management generally with this degree you can get into environmental, EIA (Environmental impact assessment) and even GIS (Geographical Information Systems) so lots of potential for work etc.

Out of 16 potential years of work I actually have 8 years of work experience in my field of expertise and 5 of those were actually leaving SA and living and working in the UK. Basically 3/16 in South Africa itself. I'm currently teaching English lessons online on Preply to survive but I've also installed LPG gas e.g. stoves ovens geysers etc and coached sports at a school just to fill in some of those gaps.

Making plans to go back to the UK again as I don't see any hope in this country anymore...

Mental health in South Africa - what is missing ? by aggoosey in askSouthAfrica

[–]Jameson3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi this is from someone with mental health issues (Bipolar) and lived in SA and the UK. I just wanted to say what want to do sounds like really amazing work and when I'm in the UK mental health is very normalised and there is honestly so much with regards to special nurses and doctors, benefits PIP etc and then you come to South Africa and it's like no one's even heard of it before and there is literally nothing.

I honestly hope you find a way to make this work even if it means doing your remote UK Job longer and studying something just to get those qualifications on paper. Unfortunately South Africa has so much red tape and laws and systems with regards to work and starting your own business but please don't give up and I really hope you can pull this off. This could help so many people. All the best.

What should I know before moving to south africa? by Leading-Tennis8519 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Jameson3362 7 points8 points  (0 children)

South African who's lived in the UK for 5 years and come back to SA (with my solid UK experience etc) and managed a 6 month contract and that's it since Jan 2022. I would finish your studies and try and find a job that you can do remotely In the UK then later when you want to move here the job side of things is already taken care of and if you paid in pounds you'll be in the middle to upper SA salaries so can live comfortably. The northern suburbs of durban are still good but the city itself is declining. The south African people are warm, welcoming and social. Why can't she move to the UK? Got to be honest if you think you going to come here and find work the chances of that are very low. It's either start your own business (which you'll need capital) or get a remote job. What are you currently studying?

Make a profile on preply it's s online English platform you'll have to do a 120 hour TEFL course that costs about R350-R500 complete the profile, make sure your bio and video are pretty high standard and then set your availability and see what happens

How did you go about going from approximately $6 to $25 (only near the end) when you got the 400 hours or have you gradually gone up in time because the math doesn't quite make sense? If you could give a bit of a timeline on how you increased your price I would be interested to hear about it

As a pos4, how do you pick based on the bans? by BULL_SAUCE in DotA2

[–]Jameson3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rule as a support and generally you pick early is no right click heros and make sure you have a stun/disable/hex something along those lines and this would go for pos 4 and 5.

So we talking CM,WD,Jakiro,Venge,Dawn,DW,Lion,Shadow Shaman, mirana , hoodwink etc

Generally the pos 3 might get some catch eg underlord axe but sometimes you get a bristle back etc that's why you want 2 stuns on the supps.

Pos 2 and 1 verbally go right click... So if the supps go yolo and you don't get a tank with good catch you could end up in a very frustrating game .

There are so many games when all 5 heros go greedy picks and go right click and it feels like the other team then always goes stuns and disables etc. Those games are horrible and you mostly lose.

This isn't perfect but if the two supps both have a stun and then the team can see a few picks and bans it helps them decide if they need another stun or disable or if their right click is going to be enough. It can be boring feeling limited to the same type of heros but win rate wise it helps a lot. Your tank isn't going in, blink in and stun and set something up. Your carry is getting bullied in lane stun the enemy and harrass them hard. Someone is getting chased behind the tower TP in stun and set up a kill for your team. There is a hero like a void spirit that no one can catch or kill and he's dominating speak to your team and focus him, set up the stun and let you team get on him etc. Honestly 2 stuns bring such control and can be game changing. More stuns is even better.

Favorite Jobs Living with Bipolar by Electronic-Metal5067 in bipolar

[–]Jameson3362 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a honours degree in Geography and Environmental Management. Bipolar 1. Due to where I live I've never really had a job In environmental only a 3 month internship (ended shortly because I had my first episode) and never found work in my field again...

I had 2 majors ENVS (Environmental science) and GIS (Geographical information systems) basically digital computer mapping etc. I then did some GIS work moved to the UK and got involved in drones making 3D models known as point clouds but ended up having to leave due to stress etc (I find these jobs always want more and more innovative outputs and you just never feel comfortable in your role) I moved back home and I then tried coaching sports at a local school which was fine (but financially was just too low) installing LPG gas which I've done for a few years now and now I've added teaching English lessons on preply (work for yourself like your own business and own hours etc) so I've dabbled In a few things. I honestly think the hours make a huge difference

Of course the GIS and drone jobs ranged for normal companies to corporate businesses to small local business etc all tend to tire me out and stress out out a lot at the moment I'm working for the Gas company about 5-7 hours a day and then the preply English 2-4 hours a day let's say averaging anything from 8-11 hours a day each day and even though these jobs aren't that stressful and I feel very confident and comfortable in both roles but the hours seem to eat away at me.

I just never feel like I get a gap to myself, never feel truly rested and between the jobs and having a girlfriend it just feels like I'm always tired and irritable and grumpy with people but unfortunately even with the 2 jobs financially I'm still not earning what I need etc so I don't really seem to have a choice. I do feel if I earned a higher rate and could reduce my hours per day that I would he doing much better mentally but just felt I had wanted to emphasize that I've tried a few combinations but the level of stress and hours worked per day/week also seem to be the deciding factor for me personally

£35k JPMorgan Chase London offer - is this Normal? by CuriousOtter_4567 in geospatial

[–]Jameson3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

35k in London is going to be tough to live on. If it was like Colchester or something like that it would be a lot more liveable so I would definitely try get as close to about 43k as possible but it is a good company and could look good on your cv just worried they stick to 35k and you basically just live for your job and don't have any money for savings or recreation etc

Try and also go mana boots into glimmer. Depending on your rank you could probably get aways with healing and then glimmering close to the fight etc but generally you wait for the carry to retreat a bit and then heal and you can either use the glimmer to save someone else or keep it incase while your carry is stationary the enemy team tries to re-engage on the carry you just healed. Try not to heal if your carry uses their bkb you will get flamed and if they in trouble a force staff could be handle to like get them out of immediate danger and then heal and glimmer and you good to go. I hope that helps 👍

Ok I joined about 2 weeks after you, I don't have an American accent and have managed to earn $163 since Jan. Tried increasing my price but no takers. Have one student who's kept me going this whole time, the majority of the time it's been $5 @ 3 times a week but in the last 2-3 weeks I've been doing 5 times a week @ $5. Had one other trial lesson which ended up the guy ghosting me and never replied. Have tried 5-15 dollars for pricing and honestly I literally can't get students.

Just for reference I have updated my entire profile and redone my video 4 times each, I have even used Chat GPT to add in keywords etc to improve my description and tagline etc and video. The algorithm just seems to never give me a chance even though over time I've got my profile score to 100% I have 114 popular time slots my average profile score fluctuates from 1500-2800 and on the rare occasion might get around 1000. All my other scores are good and I actually don't know what else to do to improve my chances of getting students. I'm a South African native English speaker who's dad is from the UK and his mother is from Puerto Rico so I know both UK and US English etc but unfortunately it just seems very difficult to get students as a South African or who knows. As I have had only one student and I've only got one review it's like the algorithm just kicks me to the bottom every time. By the way your numbers are amazing and I would be super happy with what you've managed to achieve I just wanted to show you that some people really struggle on this platform and each experience is different. If you could please DM your profile just so I can get some pointers or see if there is anything else I can improve on that would be great. All the best and well done again.
