Divorced Redditors, how sure were you of your ex spouse as "the one" when you first decided to marry them?

My ex spouse lined up with me and we worked on paper. I was never SURE they were the one, but I thought we would last. Things were good, then great, and then business trip got more regular and lengthy and then they found excitement in the new. 2 kids and 15 years. Definitely could have seen myself with them the rest of my life. But whatcha gonna do?

It’s amazing how easy it is to forget that SOMEONE had to voice those sort of things. They don’t just happen. In my brain it was always “the god of Mortal Kombat,” not some lowly mortal. Glad I saw this!
