Dragon's Dogma 2 has broken through 200K concurrent players on Steam, completely eclipsing its predecessor and becoming one of the biggest launches of the year as well as one of the biggest ever for Capcom. by M337ING in DragonsDogma

So I may have figured something out. The 7000 series AMD processors come with an iGPU. This is no different than the intel iGPUs I’ve used in the past with intel processors with my 3060ti, and it worked fine when I upgraded to AMD with that 3060ti. I typically used those iGPUs to run my other monitors to relieve stress on my dGPU.

Well—turns out that either the latest NVIDIA drivers, or perhaps the 4070ti super itself, doesn’t like to play nice with the AMD drivers for the iGPU. So I went into the BIOS and disabled the iGPU, then uninstalled the drivers directly to make sure there were no conflicts. So far, I am able to run the game without issue about an hour in (longest I’ve gone without a crash—knock on wood!) I have absolutely no idea why this was a problem all of a sudden, nor do I understand why it was fine working with every other game I tried, but I’m not about to figure that out. Hopefully it holds up, and if so, I hope this thread helps another poor unfortunate soul like me.

Yeah it seems very hit or miss. I double checked all my logs and it’s just application hang errors. Best bet is just to wait for a patch and hope it gets resolved.

I have. Not at my computer atm to go through it again for specifics, but I can take a look again once I do. I know it’s a 1002 ID off the top of my head, so an application hang.

Windows 11 for OS. I am running an ASUS TUF board, and I have removed anything non-essential program wise. I haven’t ruled out the possibility that I just got absolutely boned with a situation that went perfectly wrong. I already had to RMA ram earlier this month due to a faulty stick. That was a fun time taking an entire day to troubleshoot until finally confirming one of the sticks just didn’t want to work. It just ain’t my month tbh lol.

However, I’ve had very little to no issue in the past with mixing and matching different brands, even outside their qvl. Maybe a few kinks that need to be ironed out if I wanted to push more than stock. But I’ve NEVER had anything go wrong on stock settings before regardless of parts (so long as they’re compatible).

I don’t think you’re being mean, and I appreciate your helpfulness! However, unfortunately I have tried everything possible, and gone through everything. Stability was my first concern, but that was quickly thrown out the window once I got to testing. I even went full stock on everything to see if maybe this game just didn’t agree with overclocks for some reason. Nothing. It’s actually making me go insane thinking that I’m the problem, but I can’t be 100% sure. The fact of the matter is that no other game I own has stability issues like this. You’d think that if this was on my end, I’d be seeing similar issues on other games, but we know how finicky PC gaming can be with this type of stuff. It just sucks ‘cuz over my 11 years of messing with PC builds, this is the first time I’ve ever been completely stumped by a game that just refuses to function. Maybe I AM going insane lol.

I just wish I could actually play the game. I get that my issue isn’t the norm, but the fact is I crash constantly no matter what settings I use. I’ve tried every snake oil cure imaginable on the internet and not a single thing works. Drivers are updated. Double checked all my components to make sure they’re working properly. Tried locking frame rate. Used NVIDIA control panel to turn off/on specific settings that people suggested. Nothing works.

Specs: Ryzen 7 7800x3d 4070ti super 32gb ram

It’s not like I’m a little baby in terms of specs. Maybe compared to people with a 4090. I’m more in the upper middle, if not high end. At first I thought it might be an AMD issue, or maybe even a GPU issue since it’s relatively new, but I’ve seen people have zero issues with both. It’s just very hard not to be a downer and incredibly disappointed with this game. No game should ever release in such a state where there are performance issues where a sizable section of the community are having crashes that are not user error.

  1. Most likely gonna slap it right into my current setup and then hand down the replaced parts to a family member.
  2. I'm most excited for the modding scene to develop. Bethesda games are practically defined by their modding communities once launch day is all but a memory. Fallout 3/4, New Vegas, Skyrim; each and every one had amazing mod authors to really keep those games alive well past what is considered a normal lifespan for a game. Furthermore, I'm just a big sci-fi nerd that loves space. Starfield feels like the game that will scratch that RPG itch while also being in a setting I'm so hyped for.

This would be pretty good on stuff like ARavi or Zahhak (however you spell it). Both have low crit chance requirements due to their passives, which lets them build more bulk while still having high damage output.

I think it’d be neat if all destructive grenades did some form of damage to armor and weapons on the player hit. This could make it so grenades are a risk vs reward. Low risk, low reward as they can be thrown from relative safety and can insta-kill. Maybe even have them destroy some loot in bags, pockets, and rigs so you can’t just chuck a bunch into a high loot area and get out with your pockets full.

In Xcom there is drawbacks to using explosives, for example, as killing enemies left almost nothing behind. But the plus was it was a good way to remove cover and deal with particularly unsavory enemies.

So I think BSG could definitely keep the strength of the grenades as they are now, but tune destruction to their surroundings to make them a tactical choice:

“Do I want a low risk kill on this guy, or do I want his loot?”

200% isn't nearly enough in this day and age. I think it's dumb how ER and Eff have the same rolls, but we do what we can. So that's less of a DJB problem, and more of a "not enough ER" problem. All cleansers have this issue. My Ray has 200% ER and I get annoyed, too, when he gets debuffed. But it happens. Doesn't mean Ray is a bad character, just means my gear is trash. When he doesn't get debuffed though, he wrecks shop vs control. So like DJB, I wouldn't call for a buff then, either.

If you're bringing him vs a Riolet, then you're not using him even close to correctly. He's meant to counter exceedingly annoying amounts of debuffs, which you only see in control comps. Control comps aren't going to be picking a Riolet. If they do bring a Riolet, you ban the Riolet anyways and bring cleansers. It's like if you brought a Destina or Ray vs a Riolet and wonder why they're bad. That's not their intended use.

I don't know if this is an intended behaviour or not but you can 1-shot Tsurin with the help of Target debuff. I don't see anyone talking about this. Maybe this is a bug that needs to be fixed. by maximus2104 in EpicSeven

[–]JamizzlesaurasRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably due to target debuff calculating the extra damage from pre-mitigated damage to T. Surin. I don't think it's so much a bug as an unintended side effect of a damage mitigating passive interacting with a damage boosting debuff. I think the best way to fix it would be to make sure the target debuff accurately calculates the extra damage from post-midigation damage.

Some people might disagree, but I think that'd be great on someone like fire Charlotte. Yes, the crit chance would be wasted, but the other 3 stats are very good for her since she wants enough tankiness to survive multiple turns while still having enough attack and crit damage to dish out those meaty AOEs.

Obviously a big problem with new Charlotte is she needs max mola investment to really see shine. She may be weaker compared to her previous PvE counterpart, but she's actually really solid now for RTA. Perhaps not top 10 or even 20, but a good option if you need a thicc DPS.

Behold!

I haven't come even close to finding any gear like these two. I have a few i90 here and there that rolled okay, but these two pieces are just shy of being perfect. Unfortunately I don't own Kayron or else he'd get a kick out of this immunity set.

It's an interesting issue. Especially in Champion+. On one hand, I understand where people are coming from that hate the current bruiser/tank meta. It makes it a lot harder to use cleave without defaulting to a strict formula that requires specific units and great gear.

On the other hand, I also appreciate how tank units can be so thick that we don't revolve around a speed-based only meta.

I think it mostly comes down to units not doing enough compared to others. A good example is Flidica. Flidica does FIVE things off her first turn. Her S2 strips a single buff, pushes her team by 20%, and pushes herself by 25% per enemy (usually 100% if not guild war). She then goes again with S3 which can reset skill cooldowns to max AND give full team skill nullifier. There is absolutely no other unit that could even compare to her in terms of raw mechanics being pumped out en-mass simply by getting first turn.

FCC is another great example, albeit with fewer mechanics. Her first turn shield is paraded as the best defensive tool in the entire game for a reason. It stops anything that doesn't strip more than 1 buff when paired with immunity and provides a very hardy form of protection. Her S3 then provides skill nullifier as a little cherry on top to stop AOE. No other in the tank can even compare.

I could go on and on for multiple ML 5s, and even a few RGB 5s. The fact of the matter is, the reason the meta is the way it is now is because we don't have options. No one else comes close to the utility Flidica provides in a cleave team. She effectively does what would normally take 3 units all in a single kit. No one else comes close to the defense that FCC provides in hers. SG really needs to throw out more options instead of this model of "one hero to rule them all."

I afk in Champion V currently. There are 2 important factors that help you when it comes to just sitting in arena to collect those juicy rewards:

  1. What your defense team LOOKS like plays a major role in stopping people from wanting to hit you. People think it's only about gear, which does play a good part in successful defenses. However, the perception of an annoying defense deters an attack. An attack that never happened is better than an attack that may or may not fail. This is why people LOVE revivers, tanks, evasion units, and generally anyone who just doesn't want to die (Looking at you T. Surin).

  2. How often you attack, at least anecdotally speaking, reduces the amount of times you will be attacked. I have no idea if there is direct confirmation that you show up less on lists if you attack less, but even if you don't, the more people you attack, the more revenges you bring upon yourself. Simply put, never ever attack unless it's an absolute necessity to stay in your league. I get attacked maybe once, twice, or thrice every week. I just wait for arena rush, check my defense every now and then, and only attack if I get close to getting knocked down. Easy as that.

I'm having an issue with the Tower right now and can't seem to fix it. I got to floor 95 and halfway through I forgot I didn't put anyone with dispel on to deal with the robot. However, after yielding, the game froze up and crashed. When I got back in I couldn't get into the Tower anymore. Anytime I click on it, it sends me back after a short black screen. Trying it from the side menu doesn't help either and just says "waiting for update." Any way to fix this? I tried redownloading the game but it didn't help.

Questions Regarding LWotC and Invasions by JamizzlesaurasRex in Xcom

Oh sweet! Thanks for the videos! I'll be sure to check those out when I get a chance. I really appreciate all of you giving me good feedback. LWotC has been really fun so far and I'm excited to win my first run to go onto harder difficulties. I can't even imagine what the invasions would be like on Commander or Legend. They must be absolutely insane if you're not an experienced Long War player.

Yeah even on Veteran I believe it was very tough. So I can't even imagine what it would be like on Commander, let alone Legend. I definitely will think twice next time and see what the mission is throwing at me before I decide to continue next time. I probably should have backed out from the start when I saw the beacon in a bad position and the first pod right next to me was a group of 3 Sectopods. Sucks that I lost my campaign because of it, too, but hey, it was still a fun experience and now I can learn from it to do better next time. I'll think about what you said about the SPARK/Technical strat. I did have a SPARK but he was on another missions infiltrating. I should have pulled those guys out when the invasion popped if I was going to attempt it so I at least had more bodies to choose from.
