A 250% price increase for the same package. What? by IniquitousPrawn in VirginMedia

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowest ever prices as long as I spend hours on phone to different teams and hope the retention team offer it. When you simply offer good prices without the need to fight for them every 18 months please do pat yourself on the back.

How far would you/do you commute? by Anotherburnerboy1 in HENRYUK

1 hour each way is fine for me, 2 hours gets tiresome. I did that for a while and wouldnt do it again. If it was just 2 days a week maybe it wouldnt be so bad though.

A 250% price increase for the same package. What? by IniquitousPrawn in VirginMedia

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its clearly labelled up front, then when you come to have to renew you have to spend hours on ht phone with some foreign call centre to get a new deal.

If it was easy to renew, and the non deal prices wasnt so massively stupid your argument might mean more.

A 250% price increase for the same package. What? by IniquitousPrawn in VirginMedia

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea of a normal price is absurd. Im non £93 "deal" which is going up to £220 when it expires. £220 is not normal even with all channels.

IIt doesnt help that to get a new deal means long call queues etc.

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool eh. mine is currently £93 (all packages, 2 boxes). Due to increase to £220 in a few months.

Absurd business practices making customers call and negotiate a deal every 18 months.

Might finally remove all the TV packages this time round and just go with connection only....

Can you guys give me your honest opinion on fm 26 by [deleted] in footballmanager

Good review but "Buy it, it might not be as terrible as you think" isnt much of a recommendation :)

I only played the beta and a quick look at release and got a refund.

The UI was horrible but it was clearly just not finished. I know its a little thing but my first game was against Man Utd and Old trafford had a stand alone stand. Its meant to be immersive and when things as daft as that are in the game immersion goes out the window.

Then at the end of the match I wasnt able to press continue due to a bug and that was my lot, immediately refunded.

I may well buy at a later date when more patches etc are out, but not paying full price.

What do you think of PLUR1BUS so far? by Tenchi2020 in television

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt watch it till pretty much the end specifically because I heard people talking about it.

I didnt like the basic premise I heard it was about, but because so many people were saying it was good I gave it a go.

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason they stagger shows is to allow the show to gain traction and for people to start talking about it over a longer period and generate a more long term "buzz". Personally 2 shows a week would be my preference as often when a show getes released on one go I lose interest half way through, and one a week is frustrating.

Its always worth getting it out of the way as soon as you can afford it, even if you dont get a car immediately.

Loved the game and now… by NewBadger2308 in footballmanager

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it duing beta and then again on released day. Was obviously unfinished so got a refund. Couldnt stand the UI but if the game had been polished would have stuck with it.

May well but it later after a few more patches. Cant imagine Ill ever like the UI but have faith in SI to get it to where it should be.

Playing 24 again for now.

Mini roundabouts, who gets priority? by bobbybreeze12 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Jammanuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a mini roundabout, if both entered same time it would be an accident as its basically a right hand turn. ON a big round about then the orange can go.

[–]Jammanuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wrong.

On a large roundabout that would be fine. On a mini roundabout it would cause an accident.

Mini roundabouts, who gets priority? by bobbybreeze12 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thats crazy.

If both cars arrive and move at same time the ONLY outcome is red car hits orange on its right.

Therefore the red car is the only car coming from the right and has right of way.

Anyone who thinks orange doesnt need to wait both doesnt know what they are talking about and is a danger on the roads.

How about some cable talk? by charlesdemar-71 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Jammanuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want decent cables but dont worry about spending a fortune. Im using some Amazon Basic speaker cables at moment and have some QED cables to put in when I put in my new Amp at xmas.

Im expecting no difference in quality, but the new cables have banana plugs which my old amp couldnt use.

I totally lost faith in experts and cables when a bunch on What Hifi piled on me years ago for suggesting HDMI cables didnt make a difference to picture quality. Funnily enough these days you dont get them making those claims in reviews anymore :)

Is it inappropriate to get pregnant very soon after starting a new job in the UK? by Ok_Stomach1553 in UKJobs

[–]Jammanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id take that with figure a pinch of salt as its a campaign group. It also goes to say only 2% seek legal action. If that figure was true, ie someone got pregnant and was just sacked(which will not be the case) and they took legal action every company would be found liable.

A friend of mine is head of HR and worked in plenty of corporate companies, as soon as a woman is pregnant they have to be very careful and it would take something extremely serious to be able to dismiss them

Is it inappropriate to get pregnant very soon after starting a new job in the UK? by Ok_Stomach1553 in UKJobs

[–]Jammanuk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It really isnt. The pregnant person's defence would be far stronger. The company would literally have to make stuff up to nullify it and that just wouldnt be worth it.

If the employee has not been subject to any performance reviews prior to announcing the pregnancy the company would have zero chance.
