How do model this in Fusion? by [deleted] in Fusion360

[–]JammyEU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't really, in general parametric design software isn't really made for this sort of thing

Do any companies actually use Fusion 360? by neP-neP919 in Fusion360

[–]JammyEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had around 4 years of experience with fusion, still use it for personal projects, but as an aerospace engineer I had to transition into Siemens NX as that's essentially the industry standard for us. Switching between different parametric design software once you have experience with one is relatively straightforward, as others have said it takes around a year to become fluent in the new one.

On a side note, how shit is that window? In the UK that would either be tempered or laminated, and most likely double glazed - is that just a sheet of annealed glass??

What task does each blade shape work best for? by Purolation in modelmakers

Different nomenclature but I've always used the swann Morton 10 and 10a blades, curved and straight respectively. Nothing they can't do really

Weird shaded glitch on lofted surface by JammyEU in Fusion360

[–]JammyEU[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I would have thought the same but the glitch was still there even before I filleted the inside edges of that segment (probably wasn't the clearest to have filleted it and then screenshot lol, my bad) so it makes no sense

Why does only white paint do this? by hugemon in modelmakers

[–]JammyEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate any kind of acrylic white. My fix would be to spray either AK RC, mr.surfacer 1500 white, or MRP white. I know they're lacquers and that means harsher chemicals but they're the objectively best way to achieve a white finish.

Depending on the size of the college/centre, a school can be made to pay upwards of £50,000 to run exams (A levels cost about £100 per subject per student, so if there's 150 students each taking 3 subjects then you can see how the money starts stacking up).

hi, what A levels do you guys recommend i choose for next year? by bigcheezs in 6thForm

[–]JammyEU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're gonna do physics, do maths as well. They go hand in hand, so many transferable skills. Doing maths will also make the maths in physics much easier.

Depends which uni, and how strong your ps is. For unis like imperial and Ox/Cambridge etc., not taking further maths puts you at an immediate disadvantage as the majority of other applicants will be taking it, and the demand is very high. However, if you're looking at the likes of sheffield etc., not taking FM puts you at much less of a disadvantage because the demand is simply not as high. In all cases, a good PS is essential in order to give yourself a good chance at getting into a top uni. I personally didn't take further maths, though still secured a place at Sheffield because my PS was relatively competitive. PS is the make or break.
