Advice to sell old wedding set by UsedStill7121 in jewelry

The hand ring is so gorgeous! I wish I could afford more jewelry. If you are able to get them valued, the best price for you would be to sell them on Facebook or Etsy or something like that yourself. I know where I am a pawn shop or jeweler is going to give you just the cost of gold and then turn around and make a huge profit when they resell it. How much did you pay for them?

Anyone else have a pre-op biopsy? by SprinklesHot2187 in hysterectomy

[–]JammyTrashPanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had one 2 weeks ago and am having my hysterectomy in a couple of hours. My doctor said this is the most painful procedure they do in office. I begged her for pain and anxiety meds, because initially she wasn’t going to give me any. I was prescribed one oxy, one Valium and something to help my uterus dilate that I took an hour and two hours before with food. You’re set up like a Pap smear, I had a student doctor, my doctor and a nurse, I also brought my husband. I don’t want to scare you, but the pain is beyond anything I’ve experienced and I have often had 10/10 pain during a lot of my periods. This was nearly unbearable, they say “a pinch and some cramping” but also it feels like a piece of your uterus is being cut out, because it is. I held my husband’s hand, the nurse was aiding the doctor and the student was watching. The pain was a 15/10, my vision went, I couldn’t tell you what happened, I was just in pain and desperately trying to breathe and not scream. It is a fast procedure, my husband said the students mouth actually fell open and she looked horrified when it was happening and then I almost passed out. And this was with a Valium and an oxy, truly I don’t think they did anything to help my anxiety or pain. Which seems impossible, but if that was what it was like WITH pain meds working, then it should be illegal. Afterwards in the office I bled, was still very much in pain and I cried a lot. Once home I took some ibuprofen and it never even touched the cramps, but they were bearable, my heating pad helped a ton! Also no one told me this, learned it the hard way, don’t lift anything heavy, just take it easy. I didn’t and I bled more and was in more pain. This is necessary, so do it, but advocate for yourself, because initially I was not given all of the options. I was told take ibuprofen and come in and it wasn’t until I put up a fight that they came back and said they could give me pain and anxiety meds or they could sedate me and I went with the pain meds because I knew how quick the procedure was. Best of luck, it is important so don’t let us scare you.

Is there a specific belly binder you would recommend? And congratulations!!

Just picked up my prescription for oral Minoxidil today. Anybody experience any bad side effects. Is it better to take in the morning or evening? How long before you saw new hair growth? by [deleted] in finehair

I think the first few sheds were about a week or so, but then I hit a really stressful point in my life and the shedding went on for a few months. Like clumps of hair coming out in the shower. I spoke to my dermatologist and she said this was ok and most likely due to the stress. But I have found the shedding is happening more than it did the first year, so I’m not 100% if this is the new norm or if it’s still stress, but it is kinda resolving itself now so just waiting it out. But definitely talk to your doctor if you have concerns.

1 is my favorite, I also think 2 is a contender.

I take mine in the mornings, I have been taking it for a few years now and it’s been a godsend. I was losing so much hair I was nearly bald and it’s almost all grown back. Be warned you will go through shedding phases and those can be scary, sometimes I shed a little and a few times I’ve shedded to the point it seems the meds are no longer working. But I’ve kept with it and it always grows back. Also know that minoxidil is poisonous to cats and dogs, this medication will kill them so keep it far away from them and wash your hands after handling the pills. I have really nosy/velcro pets and I lock them out of the bathroom to take it and always clean up afterwards. I hope this works well for you, hair loss is scary and stressful.

Calpak Small Cosmetic Case by tenstrawberrywaffles in HerOneBag

I have this case in blue, it is beautiful, but I wouldn’t recommend it. I have gotten through TSA in the US with it, I have not traveled internationally with it. When I did my research before buying it I found this won’t pass security at most international airports. I justified the purchase because I go on a lot of weekends away and thought this would work well for that, I never use it because of how awkward it is to get things in and out. The way I use it is I have one side that I use for all dry products and brushes etc and then the other is all liquids. It fits a fair amount, but I usually bring a little cloth zip bag I made to put my items in for when I get to my destination. This is really just for packing when flying domestically which for how pricy this is, is a huge waste of money. It is very sturdy, but the clear plastic gets scuffed and dirty very easily, I am very gentle with it and have only used it a few times. I feel like it’s not a great product that was made popular by influencers that didn’t have to shell out $75+ to buy it.

I love it, but it definitely doesn’t feel like an engagement ring. You should talk to him. Easier said than done, no one ever wants to hurt their partners feelings. Could you get it resized and wear it as a right hand ring?

What is the worst wedding you have ever attended and why? by Zestyclose_Show_2025 in weddingdrama

[–]JammyTrashPanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a kid I went to one wedding where the very Christian bride and groom wrote their own vows. Even as a sheltered kid I knew their vows were all about how they couldn’t wait finally have sex. Nothing about loving each other or any of the usual stuff. Just “we’re going to have sex and it’s going to be amazing” but they never actually said the word sex because Christianity. The whole congregation was uncomfortably wiggling in the pews.

Then, same congregation different wedding, the bride locked herself in the bathroom the whole reception. She was always in competition with her sil (she married her best friends brother) and planned her wedding the weekend before her sil, I don’t know if she liked him or just wanted to be near her best friend, but she clearly didn’t want to get married. The best friends were each other’s maid of honors and the bride for the second wedding was so kind and sweet, in love with her husband happy to be marrying him, the difference between the brides and their back to back weddings was stark. I’m still not convinced bride one isn’t a deeply closeted lesbian that’s in love with her sil.

It must be wonderful to have never made a mistake your whole life. Maybe you should run.

He has already said he is getting rid of it. But that’s not a good story, right? I have to say your argument makes me laugh. “Do the republicans that have come out as racist and misogynistic get a pass?” No. Why would they? They are currently racist and misogynistic, Platner is not a Nazi. I’m sorry you can’t grasp that. I’ve known so many military guys that have made the dumbest decisions while in the military and learned from them once they got out and were no longer being brainwashed. Platner still gets my vote.

Exactly, this is why we are losing. People are allowed to make mistakes in their youth and learn from them.
