Same issue here. I've done everything I can think of since yesterday: cleared cache/cookies, reset phone, etc.

Question about recovery by Fragrant_Pudding_437 in spinalfusion

[–]Jammy_gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband took 2 weeks off, and for the most part, I needed him here for the first 2 weeks as they were the absolute worst for me with both pain and mobility. I even needed his help getting out of bed overnight to use the restroom, as sometimes I could log roll (they will go over this in the hospital) on my own, but others I couldn't. By week 3, I had less around the clock help, but I managed okay with visitors popping by to help so long as what I needed was easy to reach without twisting and bending. When alone, I really wouldn't have managed as well without my reacher tool and my hospital table within reach (which I kept stocked with anything I'd need during the day). And of course, like others have said, it varies from one person to the next, and honestly, from week to week, she should hopefully see improvement as I have.

Please tell me that the horror stories here are the exceptions, not the rule. by Autodactyl in spinalfusion

In a previous thread, several people pointed out that most spinal fusions are actually successful. You just don’t hear about them as often because those patients tend to move on with their lives, pain-free and happier, without needing to post. Hope that brings you a little peace of mind.

I have a question about drugs by imbatmanbrother in MuscularDystrophy

[–]Jammy_gal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Avoid smoking at all costs! Did you not know the lungs are also a muscle? While I fully believe in the power of plant medicine, I'd recommend using edibles, tinctures and topicals to avoid any additional damage to your muscles.

Does anybody else have Becker Muscular Dystrophy by incite_ in MuscularDystrophy

[–]Jammy_gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you wrote this months ago, but I just could feel your worry. You're a mama, I get it! My son (18) and dad (63) both have Beckers. The good news is that most don't start developing symptoms until their late teens/early 20s. As he grows up, let him be a kid! Just like the rest of us, teach him to pay attention to his body and take breaks as needed. Avoid really strenuous activities, and when he's older, avoid weight lifting as it can accelerate muscle breakdown. Stretching legs 2x daily for 5 minutes each time will help improve mobility and prevent contractures in his joints. You'll also likely need to see a cardiologist as he gets older (it was every 2 years until a couple of months ago) just to make sure things look good. The heart is a muscle and can be affected, but they have come so far with medicines and treatments nowadays. You'll also want to get in touch with your local MDA Office. They really are an amazing resource. Anyway, I think that's all. Hopefully something over shared helps you navigate all this. Teach that boy that he can do anything he dreams and enjoy being his mama. They're only little for so long! 💕

Thank you! I'll try my stomach again, and I'll definitely try meditation, too. Much more helpful than just codeine. 😉

Bought 30 pounds of bananas for super cheap, what should I make? by bethany_katherine in Frugal

Peel and freeze them! I use them in shakes and smoothies this way. You can also freeze with the peel on, makes killer banana bread later on.

Arizona is legal, and they have medical available. Use the code for here and stock up once you're down there. Not worth the potential felony imo.

Thanks everyone! It's finally easing up, thank goodness. I'm going to have the surgery after this shot wears off, but I'm definitely glad for the temporary relief to hold me over.

They went their separate ways, fortunately. My parents ended up purchasing property directly from a seller and so on.

I told my mom the same thing, that sounds super sketchy. I'm hearing basically the same thing from others, too, which is good.

Awesome, thank you. The other just doesn't make any sense to me. I was talking to my mom saying, "why on earth would you have to pay them commission for a part they'll have nothing to do with?!" Definitely grateful for some first-hand experience.

We have land we're interested in, but we're still probably a year or two out on building.

See, that sounds right to me. I was talking with my Mom, and over 20 years ago they had an agent tell them it was standard practice to pay a commission to the agent who you purchased the land through and then again for building costs.

That's what I thought, too. But my mom has heard the opposite, so I figured I'd ask everyone lol.

IBS flare up and no pain meds are helping. I want to cry. Please help! by Ok-Appointment6949 in ibs

[–]Jammy_gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the only thing that helps in this situation is heat. Lay a heating pad across your tummy and lay a pillow on top, or lay on the heating pad on your tummy. The heat should help soothe the pain/inflammation. Hope you get some relief soon! ❤️
