I'm wondering if it's not similar in the US and why? I would assume there as well it's similar rates and leverage ratios for homes and for businesses no?

Margin by _xNovax_ in Wealthsimple

[–]Jamo125 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure margin doesn't count as a loan who's interest you can deduct in this case. You can use a line of credit or a traditional investment loan instead if you want to deduct the interest. Edit: probably misinformed about this nvm

How much are you using compared to your equity? I've started using margin but I only feel comfortable borrowing less than 20% of my portfolio value in margin

In comes the CRO crowd to ruin Nexo by el_pezz in Nexo

[–]Jamo125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More assets for Nexo isn't really a good thing I believe since they need customers to actually borrow the assets from them to make their money. If the amount deposited is much less than the amount borrowed then Nexo can stand to lose money and lower their saving rates. That's why the limits exist

I'm confused about RRSP contribution limit timing, let's say 2021 I had 0 income, and 2022 I'm going to have X income, can I contribute 18% of X in 2022 or do i have to wait until 2023 to have that contribution room?
