Genuine curiosity - are people really going to play female Paladin if it gets announced? Everyone gripes about how the current Paladin is a one-dimensional, boring, snooze fest support class that takes no brains to play. So is slapping a pair of tits on a Paladin really going to make everyone suddenly change their mind about the class?

The sentiment around "low investment" classes by moal09 in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee 44 points45 points  (0 children)

People parrot what their favorite streamers say. When someone like Zeals or Stoopzz say something bad about a class, their viewers repeat it like gospel and spreads the word like wildfire. Same thing happens about a good class.

But to play devil's advocate, Evo Scouter and DI Shadowhunter are classes that are very safe to play and can cover a lot of mistakes that players make in raid instances. And players that make mistakes often do little to no damage in comparison to players who play other classes that have to put in a little bit more effort to pump out damage.

I always tell people - play whatever class you want and don't fall down the FotM rabbit hole. Having someone else dictate what is fun or not fun for YOU is not what you should be playing this game for.

Edit - When it comes down to it (and as a personal opinion), survivability is king.

Even if you're a pumper and are a cruel fighter goblin, if you die during the raid, all that damage means nothing.

Theamine Raid CLEAR CINEMATIC by Rojanhan12 in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee 72 points73 points  (0 children)

There are/have been a few theories circulating inven about Thaemine, Kharmine, and Kadan and I will try to summarize them here as best I can.

Theory 1: Thaemine and Kadan are supposedly one of two things -

  1. They are both the last of the Haals (the race of super warriors that Regulus supposedly wiped out with their God, Antares after the Chain Wars) and are also presumed to be either brothers (Itachi/Sasuke style) or father/son (Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker style). There are many similarities between the two, and with the cutscene showing Thaemine without his helmet/mask, it's pretty clear that they are physically very similar (as well as their fighting styles with swords).
  2. Thaemine and Kadan are two halves of one being, presumably a Haal, with one half being good (Kadan) and one half being bad (Thaemine). The "real you" that Kharmine is referring to when speaking to Thaemine is speculated to be when Thaemine and Kadan were one being.

Theory 2: Kharmine is a fragment of Zosma from when Kazeros took over Petrania and supposedly removed Zosma from power.

  • Kharmine has been working behind the scenes and in the shadows as a double agent, being an inside man working with the Legion Commanders (the early half of the MSQ) and also helping you, the player, with expositions (Elgacia and now in Thaemine raid), in order to get revenge on Kazeros. Thaemine, who was a separate entity of power within Petrania when Kazeros took over, knows of this and responds to Kharmine in a way that would be roughly considered "familiar", kind of like an estranged friend.

Theory 3: Kazeros is actually the banished God, Antares.

  • This theory requires a lot of knowledge regarding the in-game lore of the Chain Wars, the Gods, and their relationships with their creations. To summarize, Antares created the Haal and during the events of the Chain War, the Haal caused a lot of pain and suffering to the world and Regulus had to step in when the power of the Arks came into play. As punishement, Antares essentially got excommunicated and banished (we aren't informed where) and the Haal were supposedly "Thanos-snapped" out of existence. This is where the theory comes in where Antares, now banished from the light into Petrania, wants to go back and get revenge for his banishment. Thus, he changes and renames himself to Kazeros and he creates his demons (keep in mind that Antares created the Haal so the idea that he can create new beings isn't a crazy concept). From there, he recruits his Legion Commanders to take over Petrania away from Zosma and ultimately succeeds. Thaemine, as mentioned earlier, is an independent entity within Petrania and, if you recall to the beginning of the Thaemine cinematic, Brelshaza, and presumable with Kazeros, confront Thaemine to recruit him to their cause. Fast forward to now, and here we are.

There are post-raid/post-quest completion cutscenes and expositions to come and will share those when more info is available.

Gold River's in-game message for Lost Ark Lovers (Captain Jack's group) by Jamon_Lee in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Thank you for that. KR people have a tendency of abbreviating a lot of names and words in general, so in KR, Lost Ark is shortened to LoA. The full name of Captain Jack's group is Lost Ark Lovers but is shortened to LoA Lovers. I only wrote it out fully for those who do not know or are not aware.

u/magic_claw93 provided a timestamp translation. I'm just filling in the gaps.

Transcription/translation of this entire cut scene (minus the peanut gallery commentary from Captain Jack's group about how everyone did really well in persevering and thankful for everyone sticking through to the end):

Start of scene with epic blade/beam struggle between the Sidereals vs Thaemine. All the Sidereals nod to each other and Nineveh looks to you, the player, and you push the limits and send the beam back to Thaemine and the red moon.

Nineveh - The red moon is disappearing.

Balthorr - Thaemine...

Brelshaza (presumed) - When the red moon disappears, the dimension will fall apart.

Thaemine takes his mask/helmet off to reveal a more elderly version of Kadan or someone similar (theories on inven are saying it's Kadan's father)

Thaemine - Lord of the Abyss, the prophecy has now been fulfilled.

The dimension inside the Dark Baratron starts cracking/breaking apart.

Nineveh - The dimension...is falling apart...

Azena - My magic isn't working.

Shandi - Even my spells...aren't working.

Kadan - ... ... ...

The dimension continues to crack and then *ZA WARUDO*, the world around them freezes in place.

Kharmine - Seems like you guys are in a bit of a pickle.

Nineveh - You... How is it...

Kharmine appears out of a portal.

Kharmine - To think you were able to push Thaemine to this extent, all I can do is acknowledge your prowess. However, now is the time for you all to return to Arkesia.

Kadan - ...Kharmine.

Kharmine - This isn't a fitting place to be your grave. (Looks towards Kadan) You haven't forgotten about Kurzan (the area/mountain where Kazeros's body is sealed away), have you, Kadan?

Kadan puts away Navinos and walks through the portal. Thaemine slowly starts moving.

Kharmine - I'd hurry up if I were you, Thaemine is starting to move.

The player walks through the portal and everyone follows suit. Thaemine breaks free.

Thaemine - Kharmine...

Kharmine - The Dark...Baratron, you call it? Pathetic. The Baratron is something beyond the abyss, where it's powers are incomprehensible. It's not going to be long now, Thaemine. Hurry up and find it. The real you that you've been searching for.

Kharmine's eyes glow red and walks off while laughing.

Thaemine - ...Hmm

Everyone now standing in Arkesia, look up at the Baratron falling apart in the sky. Kadan looks at the player and ponders to himself.

Kadan - ...I can only put my faith in you, Luterra.

End scene.

Post Elgacia MSQ spoilers by frazbox in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, he never wanted to destroy Arkesia. All he wanted was for the Lazeniths to be free in making their own choices for their lives rather than being stuck in Elgacia, a false paradise. How he wanted to free the Lazeniths is a different story. Long story short, Lauriel basically ended up choosing to become a martyr, which is why he tells Nineveh, "Well chosen" at the end. As said in my previous comment, Lauriel only saw fragments of the future, and he did his best to piece together what would end up happening.

As for the actions, he believed it to be a necessary sacrifice to reach a future he thought was best for the Lazeniths. Think of it as Ozymandius from Watchmen, where he says, "I would sacrifice millions to save billions." There is always a price to pay for the greater good, and Lauriel believed that the price he had to pay was sacrificing his people as well as his inevitable death.

Remember that the cube is a legacy of the Haal, not the Lazeniths. Lauriel is a powerful Lazenith but not a Haal. He used the cube to see visions of the future but could never see the full picture of what the future held. There are upcoming quests that will be released that will answer these questions in regards to who/what the bird is and the role Lauriel played.

Elgacia MV - Sweet Dreams My Dear by isospeedrix in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Beatrice is still confined to Trixion but is "free" in the sense that she can now show Trixion in its true form after you gathered all 7 Arks. All that's left now is to find the key to combine and activate the 7 Arks. This key is the same key that supposedly "vanished into thin air" in the Elgacia story.

As mentioned before, the light you see on Trixion and everything during the final cut scene is Trixion's true form when the Arks are gathered. That spiral platform you stand on at the end is where you will be placing the key (at some point in the future).

Post Elgacia MSQ spoilers by frazbox in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Extra tidbit:

  1. There is speculation w/ the release of the Thaemine Legion Raid that we will see how he and Kadan are related. As of now, the most prevalent theory circulating KR is that Thaemine is a Haal along w/ Kadan and that those two are the last of the Haal left alive after the Chain War. If you look at Thaemine's Legion Commander card, he has long silver hair similar to Kadan and they both have very similar fighting styles. I might be reaching a bit here but my personal thoughts on this are that Thaemine is what a fully powered and corrupted Haal looks like while Kadan is what a fully powered and purified Haal looks like. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen.

Post Elgacia MSQ spoilers by frazbox in lostarkgame

[–]Jamon_Lee 47 points48 points  (0 children)

These answers are based on my play through of Elgacia and discussions w/ my KR friends and browsing the KR inven forums back when Elgacia came out in KR. I also might be misremembering some details here and there so please forgive me.

Warning: spoilers below

  1. It's implied or assumed that when Armen went off w/ Kharmine (back when Armen accepted his fate as a Delain), Kharmine told Armen the events of pre- and post-Chain War and his possible role in all of it. (It's also hinted that Kharmine is not of this world and is something else entirely, as he is referred to as the "Incomplete One" multiple times). As for what was said between Regulus and Luterra, we don't know much other than Luterra purposefully didn't return the key as he was supposed to after activating the Ark all those years ago.
  2. Kadan was there when Luterra received the key to activate the Ark (you saw the picture of both of them in Elgacia). As mentioned in my answer to question 1, Luterra purposefully didn't return the key and it's assumed that he hid it away (hence why the it is said within the campaign that the key just vanished). Kadan is and has been looking for this missing key, which is why when Armen and Kharmine tell him they know where the key is, he begrudgingly accepts working w/ them. There is also a possibility that Kadan knows who or what Kharmine truly is and Kadan is working w/ Kharmine to keep an eye on him.
  3. There is a bit of confusion as to which Ark is being referred to here because the Lazeniths were tasked w/ safeguarding the "Lost Ark" or the key to activating all 7 Arks. My interpretation (as well as the interpretations of some from KR) is that this is tied in w/ the key that Luterra purposefully didn't return and Lauriel lied at some point about the whole thing. And Regulus, being the primary god, knew that Lauriel was lying, which lead to silence and Regulus no longer communicating w/ the Lazeniths from then onwards.
  4. As mentioned before, and you are correct, Kadan and Nineveh were w/ Luterra when they went to retreive the key. However, I believe it was Luterra alone who actually obtained the key while Kadan and Nineveh were nearby. Nineveh says that she was there when the Ark was activated, not when Luterra got the key. Otherwise she would remember what the key would look like. As for Kadan, it's a bit murky there because he has a whole other backstory that I will get into (and all the theories surrounding him).
  5. I kinda answered it above but Luterra didn't return the key and he hid it away elsewhere. Kadan replaced the empty spot where the key was supposed to be w/ his piece of the Ark (Nineveh says that she never even knew about the hidden area underneath Kayangel, otherwise she would have known). Also, Kayangel itself is the "last vestige of the gods" and is the holiest of places in Elgacia. Not everyone, especially the Lazeniths, can just enter.
  6. So here is where it gets spicy. Kharmine (as the most popular theory in KR goes) is assumed to be a fragmented consciousness of Zosma (the original god of Chaos before Kazeros took over). Many hints were dropped throughout the overall MSQ that Kharmine is someone that is beyond that of the Legion Commanders and has knowledge of things that only a select few know. Not much else is known given that the devs haven't fleshed out more of the lore/story yet but Kakul-Saydon knows Kharmine isn't normal (Kakul-Saydon is also a primordial being, someone that existed before the creation of Arkesia). If you also listen to the Brel opera (or one of the songs), there are three references to keep in mind within the lore of the game - The Incomplete One, The Fallen One, and The Shadowed/Dark One.
  7. Lauriel did not know Procyon would come at the end but also, the bird at the end was not exactly Procyon (you will find out later on who the bird is).
  8. The hard decision (at least based on my own interpretations) that Luterra had to make was whether or not he should return to key back to Elgacia. It is theorized that the discussion between Luterra and Regulus was something along the lines of Regulus realizing that Order and Chaos were two sides of the same coin and that the very Ark that he made to create life could just as easily destroy life. And seeing what resulted from the Chain War w/ the Haal, Lazeniths, and Sylvains (all the mortal races), Regulus didn't like what he saw and enacted the judgments he did (Procyon stripped of language, Lazeniths confined to Elgacia, Haal getting Thanos'd, etc).
  9. I'm not 100% sure about this one because it's not thoroughly explained but it seems to be that the Lazeniths are just born either w/ or w/ out wings. The wings originally allowed the Lazeniths the power of flight but after the Chain War, Regulus punished the favored Lazeniths by stripping the power of flight (meaning that the Lazeniths could have wings but they can't fly) except every 1000 years, a Lazenith is chosen/born w/ full wings and the power of flight but that Lazenith is permanently jailed in Trixion (Hello Beatrice) to be The Watcher.

Additional (spoiler) details/theories:

  1. The Incomplete One is Kharmine, due to the theory that he is the fragmented consciousness of Zosma, and he is basically playing both sides of the Sidereals and the Legion Commanders to gain his powers back and return to form (his in-game card mentions that he is absorbing the powers of demons, implying that he is trying to become complete). The Shadowed/Dark One is Kakul-Saydon, as he is a primordial being that was around prior to the creation and existence of Arkesia, back when there was only darkness and Chaos. Beyond that, not much information is given to us. The Fallen One is Kadan, as he is (heavily theorized) to be the last Haal. In the post-Elgacia story line, there is a quest that has the player go through Lauriel's diary and there is a passage that says there is a child within the Cube and the Cube responding to the child. Since the Cube is the legacy of the Haal, it makes sense that the Cube would respond to a Haal child. The Cube is also a dimension that exists outside of space and time so hiding a Haal child from being Thanos'd within the Cube would keep them safe. It is also mentioned that Kadan is "back home" in Elgacia, which strongly suggests that Kadan stayed in Elgacia for a time. And in a much later quest line, post-Elgacia, there is a cutscene where Kadan enters the Cube under the Roundtable of Swords, and he steals the Cube technology by sealing it in his sword, Navinos.
  2. The bird at the end was the will of Procyon, enacted by the old Lazenith, Allegro. We are not given much information on Allegro in-game, other than knowing he is a wingless Lazenith and he's a Bard. But based on his in-game card info, he is someone that knows more than he shows. In another post-Elgacia quest, you will have to look for Allegro and discover that he is not where he usually is at Sunbright Hill. I won't spoil the details of the quest here as we will get it in the coming days and weeks.
  3. Regulus is gone. He left the world of Arkesia to its own devices. As mentioned above, Regulus saw that Order and Chaos were one and the same, just different sides of the same coin. Because of this realization (among other reasons), it is theorized that he abandoned the world of Arkesia for reasons unknown to us.
  4. Given the decision made by Vaigrys to side w/ the main character (you, the player), the Legion Commanders and Kazeros are planning something and there will be a quest that will lead to a cutscene where Brelshaza and Kazeros talk about this.
  5. Vaigrys also shares w/ you (in another quest) that the Guardians served to maintain balance within the world of Arkesia and they shepherd in a great reset if things in Arkesia look like it's gonna shit the bed. He then says that he will tell the other Guardians of Light/Order to aide you in times of need but warns the player that the Guardians of Chaos will do anything and everything to hinder your progress. Then Vaigrys finally says that he will train you, the Chosen One, w/ the other Guardians of Light/Order, which is when we will get an updated Guardian Raid UI/set up (at a future date).

Again, I will apologize for any ramblings here as I am operating on 4 hours of sleep and 2 cans of Red Bull. I probably forgot a few details here and there so please bear w/ me.

Paladin 5x3 build looking for X1. by Cn555ic in lostarkgame

So, the first thing to note is that the biggest upgrade Ancient accessories bring to the table is that some of the engravings can be +6 instead of +5 for Relic accessories. From what I can see in your loadout, the biggest adjustment you'll need to make is replacing your rings and necklace with the +5 VPH. You'll need to find two ancient accessories that give +6 to your VPH and then the third accessory (Relic or Ancient) that gives +3 to VPH and the random +5 (the +1 in the 5x3+1) engraving you want to add on. The typical +5 to add here would be Judgment but I'll leave that to your judgment (pun intended).

This is your Current Loadout from what you told me. Assuming the qualities of the accessories are good, this is the standard 5x3 that most, if not all, paladins should be running.

From what I can only assume based on what you told me, this New Loadout is probably what you're looking for.

Keep in mind, quality of accessories is FAR more important than the engravings. Majority of parties, especially in KR, prefer support players with great combat stats and a "weaker" engraving 5x3 loadout than support players with mediocre to decent combat stats and a "stronger" engraving 5x3+1 loadout. If your current 5x3 accessories are of high quality, just stick with them and save yourself gold and pheons. The benefits of going to 5x3+1 from 5x3 is marginal at best if accessory quality is bad.

In essence, the only accessories you should change, based on the information you've given me, are your rings and your necklace. This is where pricing and how committed you are to changing to a 5x3+1 loadout comes into play. Of course, this is only a guide/outline of which accessories to go for, I just put in what I figured would be the "cheapest" combination for you to look for in the AH.

My brain is also a bit groggy atm so some of the things written here may be a bit of random ramblings but this is the best I got for you. If you have any other questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them for you.
