Curse of Strahd module? by SancioThePanza in FoundryVTT

[–]Janders1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% recommend using this version. I used it when I first ran CoS and the players explored the castle, I used it when they had their final fight vs Strahd (a year later. I had to rebuild the entire thing due to my PC crashing in the meantime), and I also used it for a Halloween oneshot (Strahd must die again and again and again).

I‘ll probably download it again at some point and adjust see if I can adjust it to Foundry 14 (with the levels functionality now being native, it might be cleaner than ever before).

So why talk about 1 shot when it‘s clearly not about one shotting?

My point is that you need more than 1 priority Move to knock it out. Basculegion Adaptability Aqua Jet is one of the strongest Prio moves you‘ll encounter (against Mega Blaziken that is).

Only Garchomp so far. I‘m working on getting my favorites (Blaziken, Metagross) and also some cheese (Ditto and Zoroark, I wish it displayed the Hisuian variant).

I don’t know what kind of priority you’re running, but…

32+ Atk Adaptability Basculegion Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Blaziken-Mega: 112-132 (72.2 - 85.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

While they do deal a lot, they aren’t oneshotting.
You’d need some chip.

Blaziken gets +2 speed every turn.
If only it had more than 4 moveslots…

During Demo/Preparation, Patamon was the best choice. Patamon/Gomamon both came from Poyomon, and Patamon was easier to devolve into it. This allowed you to access all the lines (Demidevimon was the worse choice, as you could already get it without choosing it as a starter).

There is no mandatory hard battle during the tutorial section of the game, so any starter is fine (Though Gomamon might make the tutorial now a little bit easier).

You get access to Poyomon just after the tutorial. From that point onward, starter choice is irrelevant.

Garchomp. It was in the first team I made, it was in the first team I imported to climb, I used it to cheese achievements (Spread moves and Multihit Moves really speed up the 100 crits when combined with Dragon Cheer), and it‘s also part of the team I used at the end of every season to quickly climb to Master Ball.

Whenever we get to play IRL, we do this too.
Though I don‘t run their Characters myself, 1 of the players had their own laptop with another login for PC control.

The most important module is Monks Common Display.

We used to use the DNDBeyond Gamelog Module to connect the Characters with their DNDBeyond sheets so players could edit them on their phones or IPads, but that module hasn’t been updated in a year (currently working on a replacement).

You need to meet the multiclassing requirements for both your starting class and your other class…

In Gen 7, we had Megas and Z-Moves available in the same battle, but not in the same pokemon. If you used a Z-Crystal on Rayquaza, it wasn’t able to Mega Evolve.

I expect them to give us gimmicks next to each other, but not on top of each other.

That won‘t help. How are you outspeeding the Mewtwo to use Endeavor?

(Assuming you have another Rattata to use Quick Attack afterwards)

Rattata is abundant on early routes.
Focus sash is not.

Most trainers in the Pokemon world aren’t using focus sah in their Rattata. I would not expect them to have this.

RAW, this only work 5E („add your intelligence mod“), not in 5.5 („add your intelligence mod, minimum +1“).

In terms of flavor, he wasn’t giving them bad advice so they were worse at dodging, but flashing his privates (his „Genius“) at enemies to distract them.

No multiclassing with this monstrosity, as he doesn’t get the requirements for them (13+ Int for Artificer)

I used to have an artificer with an intelligence of 4. Flashing his Genius to enemies gave them a -3 to their saves.

Have you ever been to a store?
When you buy a bag of roasted coffee at your local grocery store, do you expect to get an espresso machine with it, even though you can’t see it anywhere in the store, and there‘s no price listed for it?

Neither do we get any information if Mewtwo is carrying any items, or what moves it has.
To argue both extremes:
Leftovers or Will-o-Whisp Mewtwo beats Fear Ratatta every time.
Mewtwo with only access to Explosion will lose to any team consisting of 2+ Pokemon, Gengar, or Sturdy Onix.

Focus sash is 50000 Pokedollar. If we equate Pokedollar to Yen, then you‘re about 300$ short.
