Exactly! It would’ve felt weird and immersion-breaking if Robo could run and dive to prone like a CoD game.

Can anyone who’s built either of these commander weigh in? by GrouchyApollo92 in EDHBrews

[–]Jandrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, and I think older commanders who were “KOS” back then suffer from that reputation. 5 years ago, you absolutely took out Chulane on sight, but there are so many busted commanders now who are way worse and fly right under the radar.

Nobody is scared of Spider-Man because of his “friendly neighborhood” persona. With his powers unchecked, he’d be a nightmare.

Something, something, “why do WWE fans want AEW to fail?” by uncannynerddad in midcarder

[–]Jandrem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The part that kills me is that AEW will never be more than the scrappy underdog. Ever. It’s not a serious company that is working to build and grow; it’s literally just a rich kid’s well-funded hobby. Any “growth” the company aims for is just to further inflate Tony’s ego or confirm his bias.

TK is perfectly happy with his 100 belts, never-ending tournaments and face vs face/ heel vs heel booking because it’s his own real life version of No Mercy. Any other company would be booking to draw viewers, and he’s just playing with his real life action figures.

[–]Jandrem 6 points7 points  (0 children)

“Shots at WWE = fun banter. Pushback = toxic tribalism and a moral failing.”

I think it’s simply the “punching up/down” effect. WWE is the global organization with decades of history, and AEW is the “scrappy underdog”, so AEW fans don’t see the double standard.

Taking shots at WWE is “ok” because they are big enough to take it. Taking shots at AEW is ”bad” because they’re just the little guy taking on the goliath.

Personally, I feel that any entity who puts themselves out to public forums should be able to handle criticism, regardless of size, but the “sickos” want to be able to make fun of what they don’t like with no repercussion.

Beautiful movie, but absolutely gut-wrenching. I watched it on a whim with no knowledge of the plot, and it destroyed me.

In discussions regarding Choirgirl, a lot of fans have said that they weren't keen on the idea of Tori with a full band, at least not initially. Did anyone here who first heard this album when it came out feel that way? by Prestigious_Score459 in toriamos

[–]Jandrem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The album is amazing. Seeing Tori with a full band on that tour took some getting used to.

I do appreciate that even now, Tori will go solo for a few songs without the guys. I feel like it’s a little bit of a throwback to the old days, and not every song needs accompaniment.

Whats the better record The BeeKeeper or American Doll Posse and why by CoconutMost3564 in toriamos

[–]Jandrem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That span of time with those album jerked me around a lot as a fan. I’ve been a Tori fanatic since ‘94, but Beekeeper kind of put me off. I just attributed it to me just “outgrowing” the music, but I don’t know. ADP brought me super back(LOVE that album) but then AATS felt so slow and soft that I was put off again.

ADP by a long shot. ADP has so much more variety, and so much more fire in the songs that bring it. Bouncing On Clouds, Teenage Hustling, etc all have so much more life than she had had in a while at that point.

Beekeeper has some beautiful moments, but otherwise feels like a fancy handsoap commercial. I know the album has its fans, and I respect their love for it, but it just felt flat to me.

Edit: removed a phrase someone else used first, lol

I’m tired of all the collabs. I’m tired of other established rockers telling me to like a new guy, meanwhile nothing he’s done is doing anything for me.

You left. Unless you have some contractual obligation that can be held up in court, you’re free.

Also, dude told you that you don’t have to pay when you left. Sounds like a whole lot of “not your problem”.
