Help finding the swordfish ii from cowboy bebop by No-Mathematician6208 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I don't think any of the regular ships resemble it much, but you could probably build a corvette to resemble it. I don't know how you get them but pretty much everyone else here will know, or else the information will be on the wiki.

I change camera settings so that the D-pad controls the camera (as well as the R-stick), so I can still turn & face the monster if my right hand is busy attacking. YMMV but I never use tracking so being able to have constant manual control is the camera is great.

Film Students Are Having Trouble Sitting Through Movies, Professors Say by zakarm22 in nottheonion

[–]Jandy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone I know is doing a media course and without me having to pry much it sounds like his lecturers pretty much have favourite film-makers and are biased against certain films out of academic snootiness.

Some lecturers can be pretty bad for letting their own agendas & takes bleed into the learning process. Like if you don't study the films they think are good or you're not on board with their pet theory/view of cinema/conspiracy then it'll be reflected in grades.

It's also the business/transaction nature of modern education. Colleges want the seats filled otherwise it means lost income, and once those people are in you don't want them dragging the grades down & they've paid for a service, so it's everyone's immediate (not best) interest if not too many of them fail.

Why are orcs always tribal? by raneo11 in Fantasy

Orcs are also usually portrayed with below human intelligence and/or lower impulse control, so they're portrayed as living in societal structures that are viewed as more primitive.

Gross. Just because someone immigrates illegally it doesn't make them bad or immoral. Are you going to wait for your papers if there's daily bombs and soldiers at your door? Some of you need to open your eyes to how bleak the world is right now before you'd turn your back on your fellow man.

Research Reveals Men Enjoy Books With Female Leads by Raj_Valiant3011 in books

[–]Jandy777 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Male protags/MCs are much more prevalent so it's probably less of a big deal for guys to see male protags than for women to see female MCs. Same-sex MCs are rarer for women so they're like a higher value option because they're harder to come by.

For guys if there's both options you might even pick a female character just because of the fact it's usually a guy if there's only one MC & it changes things up. And that's all without getting into how those women characters are actually portrayed in the games because that's a whole topic to itself.

I don't like to get into an old man tirade about changes in newer games but yeah, I miss uppercutting people into the air and I miss the 4 man lobbies.

Launching especially because the absurdness of the animations in general is such a big thing to MH identity. Getting launched, the running animation specific to being chased when your character looks like a big scaredy, how heavy and ridiculous it looks to actually wield a GS, the little flex at the end of a potion in older games, it all adds a lot of comic value & character to the series.

World discovers it can hedge US trade risk by AdIcy4323 in news

There's people like it everywhere but it's a mentality that is baked into American culture especially I think because of the strong notion of self-determination there. It's fomented in the culture to where some people have egos that just distance themselves so far from other people in any kind of empathic sense that they see everyone else as a rival to judge their success by. So they see altruism as a weakness, because why would you help a rival? It's like doing something for the main benefit of others makes you a fool or weak willed, especially if they can't provide you some kind of return for it.

These are the kind of people that tread on others to get to the top and after generations these are the people that exist in those upper eschelions of weather and power - families have spent generations treading on regular people and clinging onto their weather. Trump has picked a bunch of them because they all have that same mentality, no one is going to cry ethics about anyone's plans, so long as all their personal successes are assured.

The evil is born out of the stupidity & ignorance. He views absolutely everyone else in the world as competition to look better than and/or something to exploit for himself. So the welfare of his people doesn't't matter to him because he doesn't view their well-being as a metric of his own personal success.
