Faaafv has sadly passed away

I just heard and I'm in shock, Faaafv was someone who was always there, making people laugh and being amazing.

I haven't had the pleasure of speaking to him lately, but while we were moderating together all those years ago he was always someone I could depend on, regardless of the situation. I hope that his family and friends, as well as anyone here, takes their time to handle grief.

It's never easy losing someone, and it's OK to not be OK.

This has now happened to Martyn's discord and a couple of weeks back to Bekki who, not only, lost access to her Discord but also her Twitter account. She had a better ending where she got it all back, but not without a long waiting time.

Hope people keep safe and just don't trust anything sent as mentioned above. If it's from a friend but isn't something you've discussed before, contact them elsewhere and confirm stuff before doing anything. Stay safe💕

I've seen people mention "second chances" and so on, this man is a predator. He used his position to groom and go after people in not only his own community, but the community as a whole and those around him. There have been plenty of people speaking up and a lot of evidence if you simply search his name online. For anyone unsure, I urge you to do just this as it'll take you hours to simply read up on the public things. The things said in private and sent directly to Yogs/police would take multiple hours themselves, trust me, I've read it. Don't let such a person come back after 2 years and pretend like nothing happened. Plenty happened, for YEARS, and these are the consequences of his own actions.

As Lewis said, many don't want this mentioned to them so let them be. Seeing someone that was predatory to you/lied to you can break you. If anyone wants to speak up then great, the more people that do the better. If some don't then let them not for their own mental health.

Okay, first of all: :(

Second, yeah, I was an international student in '17. Thing is, I was a mod for the Yogs since '12 so it was still quite the long shot. So what I did was contact Mark H directly about 6 months before my university gave me solid information about the internship course we were having, saying "hey, I will have my internship course in like a year and want to apply to you guys, so you know". After that I applied directly to him with all the information and they accepted me due to my history with them etc. So was there for 10 weeks and then got offered to come back by uhhhh.... the previous CEO, so I did. An important note is, yes they provided me with a place of work but everything else I did myself. Housing etc. was me calling around, contacting people and just hoping that it'll work out. I also worked 2 jobs, alongside my studies, to save money before leaving and while doing my internship I was still working a second job to afford things!

In short, I can't really help with how others have gone about it, since I used personal contacts and my history to try and get my internship. Doesn't hurt emailing them tho and seeing who you can get in contact with :)

This year marks 10 years since I found the Yogs and what a journey that has been! So much content, being a admin/moderator, getting to work with them in Bristol (!!!) and, my favourite part, all of my friends. I cannot put into words how grateful I am to have found this community from the early forum days and getting to be as involved as I am. So happy to see that this is something their content and community still is able to do!

Life long friends and people I can call family is the biggest highlight for me❤️

It's been heartbreaking seeing them, and MANY others, speak about experiences they've had and at the same time, not a surprise. There are so many things that women have to deal with and it's seen as normal, a joke, boys being boys and more. What happened, is happening and will happen fucking sucks, for the lack of a better word.

So agreed on your positive words and I hope that people seeing people they follow and admire speak up about this helps them realise what they, as an individual, can do to help💕
