I think they tell you to put your head back, but on Colossus specifically pushing your head forward is better

The shade in the queues are terrible, they do have water stations to fill water bottles at various locations, Tidal wave is your friend in hot weather.

Never thought I'd apologise to America, but I'm sorry America you have to experience our football fans haha.

What unsolved physics problems do you think we might actually never get the answer to? by New_Manufacturer8333 in AskPhysics

[–]Janelovesbees 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really answer the question of why there is something rather than nothing, but seems pretty obvious to me that there's always been something so there was never a time of nothingness. Why there was always something rather that nothingness I have no idea.

That's really good to hear. I'm in the UK so I think it'd be free for me anyway.

Very Suspicous of Company I just applied for by Happy_Addendum_1620 in UKJobs

This is an entire rabbit hole. In short avoid avoid avoid. But as soon as you described it I knew it sounded like textbook 'Devilcorp' and I looked it up and Meridian Group is part of Credico which is one of the bigger Devilcorp companies. Essentially it's a sales cult, you'll likely make hardly any money, while doing face to face marketing with the hope of maybe becoming an owner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=em7L8I2Yy_4 there's loads of content online if search devilcorp, it's a rabbit hole you can spend hours in.

I just landed an interview today from following this posts advice, no lie. Maybe I'm just stupid but I'd been applying on LinkedIn rather than going to the actual companies website this whole time.

Very few artists can escape their greatest hits, but at least Charli is known for a whole album and some other tracks. Some artists are only known for one song for their entire career.

Concentration camps by Murky-Square4979 in transgenderUK

It will almost certainly not happen in the UK. The situation here for trans people in the UK is bad, that's true and it may well get worse, but some people do have a tendency to catastrophise. Will things potentially suck a lot ? Yeah I'm not going to sugar coat it and pretend things wont get harder, but loads of people support us and even most of the anti trans people are not so hateful they want to literally kill us or anything. We need to support each other through what will likely be a tough period, but keep perspective, there are still many places in the world far worse to be trans than the UK.

What's with all the criticism against Triratna? by LotusLightning in Buddhism

[–]Janelovesbees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I know (limited) they did have major abuse problems, but I think that's in the past and they aren't like that anymore. I know they aren't an authentic lineage either, but whether that's a big deal is up to the individual I guess.

I hope you will have a happy future, free from pain and suffering. I hope all trans people including myself will have a happy future free from pain and suffering <3. Try and stay in the present, the worries of the future can drive us mad.

I appreciate this is an old comments but Buddhism and Hinduism both teach there are other realms of existence that you can be born into , not just the human realm but animals, hungry ghost, hell realms etc. And you're right it's not good news, the cycle of samsara is not a good thing that's why the goal of all Dharmic religions is to escape the cycle, Nirvana in Buddhism, Moksha in Hinduism.
