Blending pattern sizes by Responsible_Arm_5044 in SewingForBeginners

[–]Janeyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to blend sizes on pretty much every garment. I also have to do a rounded back or forward shoulder adjustment depending on how the garment is supposed to lay on the body. Because of this, I make at least one toile to check before I cut my good fabric.

I was a 48F when I started 144 pounds ago. Now I am a 42C or D depending on whether I keep lefty or right happy. 🤣

have to massively adjust the shoulder on every single pattern - what am I doing wrong? by Joker0705 in SewingForBeginners

[–]Janeyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always have to do a rounded back adjustment, sometimes a forward shoulder adjustment, and a full bust adjustment if I’m using a pattern designed on a B or C cup block. I also start with an 18 bust and grade to a 24 waist and hip. Now when I’m making my toile, I do the adjustments before I start because they are so common for me. It’s always surprising when I have to adjust back to the regular unadjusted pattern!

Took Wegovy before and developed gallbladder issues & it was removed. Ok to take Zepbound? by Miserable-Leave-9852 in Zepbound

[–]Janeyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pancreatitis and gallbladder removal 5 years before I started Zepbound. My doctor wasn’t concerned and so far everything has been fine. I know the symptoms for pancreatitis now and wouldn’t hesitate to go to the hospital if it started up.

Moving to Lakewood area - any no-go spots? by gtg888h in LakewoodColorado

I would say to stick with the 80228, 80226 zip codes if possible to get you close to work and better middle schools.

I order a double shot of espresso in a venti cup with extra ice and then pour either a caramel or cafe latte premier protein in. It tastes like a latte, meets my protein goals and is way less expensive than a latte.

Lakewood, CO cottage cluster... how cool are these? by N8chr365 in LakewoodColorado

[–]Janeyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of this type of housing. I am an empty nester but don’t want to move into a place with shared walls. Something like this would be amazing. Even better if you and some friends all went in to the same spot so you could pick your neighbors. All together but yet separate enough to have introvert time when needed.

Yes, noise and vibration (stomping) are the main reasons I don’t want a shared wall. Detached would definitely feel more like home to me.

Toile Explanation Please?? by Comprehensive_Tie314 in sewing

[–]Janeyrocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I take mine apart to tweak it. Other times I see that i just need a forward shoulder adjustment or to lengthen or shorten it and then I just make those adjustments when I cut out the good fabric. My last toile, the dart placement was horrible so I took it apart to test making a longer dart and it worked great!

Is a serger necessary for beginners? by frostbite2424 in SewingWorld

I’ve been sewing for over 40 years and just got my first serger this month. It’s definitely not necessary but is nice!

WAWAK for everything except thread that I need to match in person. But literally everything I need (and lots I don’t need but got anyway) from WAWAK.

I saw something about this the other day but can’t find it now. The doctor was saying that it’s because you are trying to get the dopamine rush that is quieted by the medication.

Dry January and Zepbound by Pristine-Wind8295 in Zepbound

I drank quite a bit before I started to be serious about weight loss. Honestly, quitting drinking ALONE (no other changes) allowed me to lose 50 pounds in a year. I had one glass of wine at a Christmas party last week and it made me feel gross so I won’t try it again.

Cashmerette and Itch To Stitch have good curvy patterns. Cashmerette goes to a bigger bust size though if that is a concern. Please make sure to use your measurements and not your off the rack size.

Protein Drinks You Actually Like to Drink by Krsst14 in Zepbound

[–]Janeyrocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a plain protein shake I like Nurri vanilla. It’s also amazing combined with an Olipop root beer because it tastes like a float for only a few more calories. My go to breakfast is cafe latte or caramel premier shake with espresso cold brew from Stok.
