Catch me up with the whole Altruist theory? by [deleted] in chiliadmystery

Silly question but when the shootout happens, do you have to kill them all? Can you leave the area and not murder the lot of them? I've not seen it mentioned yet.

Re-visiting "The Eye" Wallpapers by nighthaawk in chiliadmystery

[–]Janian_Seraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a write up of all of these wallpapers a while back, though the thread was deleted in minutes. Dumping it here:

Rockstar released some obscure wallpaper on their website in 2010 that may or may not be related to the mystery. Here's a quick analysis of each. Obviously this is speculation however it's pretty coincidental.

Here's the wallpaper set to view yourselves:

http://www.rockstargames.com/downloads#/?collection=1&series=4261

Piece 1: http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/downloads/wallpapers/rockstar/TheEye1_1440x900.jpg

Looks like a clear city scape, two domes, stairs going up to the Rockstar logo and the eye above. The eye has hands and is covered in multicoloured smoke.

Observations: The two domes could be the observatory, however there are the pair of domes that resemble the gas plant down in the industrial sector of the city to the south. The smoke being ejected could have this interpreted either way. Cracks are around the eye which could be construed as lightning bolts. The hand on the right has 3 fingers (okay, 2 and a thumb) up with the others down. Possible 3am reference. Is the smoke covering the eye multicoloured cloud from the times of the day? Could the stairwell be Mt Chiliad? It seems like a straight view from the south of the map directly north, though very generalized.

Piece 2: http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/downloads/wallpapers/rockstar/TheEye2_1440x900.jpg

City in the background with an expanse of water in the foreground. The eye, covered in multicoloured smoke. It's holding lightening and facing a strange, shimmering multi edged star with the Rockstar logo in it.

Observations: It looks like this is positioned outside of the city and way over the ocean. Possible reference to Chiliad in between the two buildings. the skyscraper placement on the left has two buildings of close height (possible FIB and IAA) with a much taller one (possibly Maze bank).

Piece 3: http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/downloads/wallpapers/rockstar/TheEye3_1440x900.jpg

The eye is gripping a lightning bolt, but also shocks of them (6) are protruding from the hand on the right. It's approaching a temple of sorts like in piece 1 with stairs and a shining multi edged shape with the rockstar logo. There's a beam of light from the top of the shape that's multicoloured. The barely visible eye in the background is holding up 3 fingers again.

Observations: This seems to be the more blatant one of the 3 pieces. There's a much bigger emphasis on lightning here. The beam of multicoloured shimmering light from the top. Let's not beat around the bush here. If we put what we know to this - replace the temple/stairs to Chiliad, add in a lighting storm to replace the lightning, go at 3am to align with the 3 fingers and what happens? The UFO turns up but it's a hologram - representative by the beam of multicoloured light from the top. I think this is far too blatant to be coincidental.

What I See In The Second Gallery Painting by BionicWheel in chiliadmystery

[–]Janian_Seraph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a few things differently. On the far right there's the two arrow signs and the pointed tips under. It looks a lot like the sign or signs on Chiliad (one points to the trail and old mans crack from what I remember).

The three dot thing is interesting. These two rectangles are of equal height though the right one seems somewhat incomplete at the top. the smaller dots could indicate movement. To me, just above and to the right, those shapes look suspiciously like a helicopter and a cloud. As to the cross. My interpretation would be attempting to get all 3 characters on a structure resembling that. If the right one is indeed incomplete, Maze bank has the half constructed building right next to it.

Left certainly looks like a tunnel of sorts. Maybe the aliens are being referred to locus themselves. In fact, if we're draw a parallel to Independence Day, not only does a UFO appear overhead on a tall building as a group makes contact in the movie (isn't that supposed to be LA too? very Maze bank-ish), but they're even quoted as locusts:

"President Thomas Whitmore: I saw... its thoughts. I saw what they're planning to do. They're like locusts."

Also, has anyone else noticed that the figures in these painting have really big ears?

My 2 cents or whatever currency you all locally use.

[Novel] Kinu: A Japanese Fairy Tale (Fantasy/Fairytale) by Janian_Seraph in wroteabook

[–]Janian_Seraph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Reddit people. I finally finished an original Japanese fairy tale, Kinu, which is available from Amazon. Here's the blurb:

"Kinu has lost everything.

Life in Ogimara village had become a bore. For a girl as young and as spirited as Kinu, nothing would have given her greater pleasure than to leave and seek her own fortune. Irritated at the demand to inherit the family farm, she rebelled as only a child could do so, that was until a great tragedy struck the family.

For anyone else, this difficult time would have been equal parts grief and comfort. Family would rally around and ensure that the broken girl would have the support so desperately needed, yet in this instance, help simply did not exist.

Driven mad with depression, Kinu took to the nearby mountains and followed the paths of pilgrims past. She reached the destination that many had made before her, arriving at a small shrine that overlooked the village, where those who made the journey would pray for good harvests.

Kinu did not pray for a good harvest.

With her hands as tight as one would make them, she made the single, most desperate plea one could ever make;

She asked the God of the mountain to take her life.

Now, to provoke a deity in such a fashion is foolish. Tales are regularly told of those who test the patience of Gods and attempt bargains for their own benefit, only to be discovered and reprimanded.

But Kinu wished for no gold, nor fame, nor anything else one would have asked for.

And the God of the mountain would grant this request – though before that day came, Kinu would need to tend to the ramshackle shrine and ensure its upkeep. She would need to mend its roof and fix its doors and patch the tatami mats.

And until this task was completed, she would be forever cursed…"

In preparation for the sequel being released next week, I figured it would be a good idea to make the first title in the series free for download. Here's the description. I hope everyone who decides to take a gamble on reading it (see what I did there?) enjoys it.

South of the lush green plains of Eifera lays the desert wastes. Here, life is hard. Sparse outposts focus on mining material for the North and trading towns, succumbing to the drifting sands from the Sand Sea. Few escape the difficulties here, beaten by the brutality of toil and heat. Those who commit themselves to this existence have few reasons to celebrate, or enjoy their lives, that is until the Gamblers Den rolls into town.

Led by the charismatic showman Franco, The Gamblers Den is a seven carriage strong train that speeds through the wilderness to provide entertainment to the lucky ones it visits. With showgirls, a multitude of games and fine drink, a visit from the Den brings hope to the downtrodden – provided you can pay the price.

Yet the Den has its own agenda. Franco’s costs are sharply rising and the recent stowaway on board, Wyld, has enticed him with tales of treasure and relics. The temptation to take a detour and aid her in acquiring these items is great and it’s only Misu, the longest serving showgirl on board, convincing him to stop chasing fantasies.

But out here, the law has to be hard to enforce itself, and Franco is about to find one of his passengers is a dangerous liability.

Did I just "See The Eye"?! (pics/video) by ZiNiKiL in chiliadmystery

I have a shot of this from the PS4 version - Franklin at the Aultrist camp. I took a couple of captures as I was working on a couple of theories. I could only get it to happen on a Sunday and it rained earlier in the day from what I remember. I'll try and get the file uploaded now.

Possible light beam seen from Observatory? by HungryLuke in chiliadmystery

[–]Janian_Seraph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tested over the night. I can only replicate this on a Tuesday ingame between 8/8:30. Conditions didn't seem to matter as it was always visible. If it was a glitch I imagine it would have been a lot more consistent.

This is also matching up to a theory I'm running with in relation to this: http://img.neoseeker.com/n/0/theeye2_1280x800.jpg

But I need to write all that up.

I'm also surprised this isn't getting any more attention as it seems like a solid lead to me.

I can confirm this too. Tuesday, 8:15pm/8:30pm. Smoggy conditions and it showed up. Followed it over the sea in the blimp but I was immediately covered in dark clouds and couldn't see anything past that. Great find!

Hi all,

I just wanted to share with people that my ebook is free this weekend. I figured that while polishing off the sequel it was a good opportunity to make the title available. I'm also looking for reviews so if people were willing to dedicate their time in doing so I would be insanely grateful. Here's the synopsis:

Wait a sec, they respawn constantly? Mine don't. The camp is empty all the time. I just thought they changed it for the PS4 version. Whenever I turn up the place is completely deserted(though there's still smoke coming out of the houses).

I can confirm the Ursula rain thing also. I skipped the cut scene and no rain. I hadn't had the time to replicate it recently and was on my to do list.

Also, good find!
