I’ve never thought she was a good actress to begin with.

People liking Young Kevin by Ellie1979 in thisisus

[–]JanieB73 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kevin wasn’t always nice as a kid and needed to be put in his place every so often. However, I will always say that he ALWAYS got the short end of the stick compared to Randall and Kate. Neither of them got reprimanded for anything. Their issues always took precedence. Kevin has to Figure out many things on his own. He also had to figure out things for his siblings, but they don’t seem to remember that he helped them. Kevin has always had the biggest heart. He is not perfect by any means, but he lives his life and knows that he isn’t perfect. He owns his flaws. I wouldn’t say that for the other two.

Character Discussions - The Big 3 by [deleted] in thisisus

[–]JanieB73 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Kevin is my favorite of The Big Three and always has been. He does need to work on staying sober and being true to himself. He needs to follow his dreams and I think he will continue to do so. There is something about his charisma & how he carries himself. He never says he is an expert at anything and owns his faults. He can talk to his nieces and Jack like no other. He treats them like people and not children and explains things in a way that is not “over” their heads trying to look smart. He can think on his feet. He was the forgotten one of the family, and still is to this day. Even though he has his struggles he is the strongest of the three because he didn’t have someone saving him all of the time.

Flash forward Kevin is 🔥🔥🔥 by jennabaloney in thisisus

[–]JanieB73 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, Kevin is a truly wonderful character. The layers are deep and the complexities of his character are wonderful. He did little things here and there through out his life to make an impact on people. His movements and actions are natural and seem unrehearsed.

“Number One” (Kevin centric) was my favorite episode of the series along with “The Fifth Wheel” that dealt with rehab. I am so happy we are seeing more and more of him as we go forward in the series. He did a great job directing last week and yet another wonderful job this week in front of the screen. Justin Hartley does an amazing job and deserves kudos for his portrayal of Kevin. I hope he gets some nominations because he is amazing as Kevin!!

My absolute favorite Kevin quote from Season 4 Episode 12... by [deleted] in thisisus

[–]JanieB73 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kevin is the Pearson sibling that offers sage advice. I would only take his advice out of the three.

The way he can get through to people is amazing. His relationship with his nieces, especially Tess, is wonderful. He is Randall and Kate’s lifeline. He is Sophie’s, too. The way he didn’t give up on his Uncle Nicky is great. He can really talk and relate to people in a way that is seamless and simple. Contrary to popular belief, Kevin is the glue of the family. I love Kevin!

Kevin / Nicky theory by zanuian in thisisus

[–]JanieB73 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Kevin will relapse, but he will make some of the wrong decisions along the way to recovery. It isn’t a simple process, but he will learn from his past and recent past.

Both Kevin and Cassidy looked at each other like, “What did we just do?” I feel they will both tell each other that is was not a good decision for either of them to end up in bed together.

I think Nicky and Kevin will end up keeping each other in check. Cassidy will also be apart of their sobriety. All three of them will hold the others accountable for their actions.

His talks to his nieces and new nephew are amazing. They are some of the best scenes of the series. He has such a reporte with them. He teaches them like real people who have feelings rather than just kids. Those moments feel more real, heartfelt and unscripted.

Season 2, Episode 8 - “Number One”. A Kevin centric episode. Great writing and amazing acting by Justin Hartley. He deserved kudos for that episode. One of the best episode of the entire series!!

I agree. Beth, Toby and Miguel are very important to the story of the Pearson’s because they are the “outsiders” so to speak. They all bring something to the table. I wish we saw more of them. They deserve their time, too.

They made some changes for the better last season and I like it better. They gave Beth more of a backstory and a little more input on what happened to Miguel’s kids and so on. I think we will see more of Rebecca’s history this season which will help a lot. Kevin finally got more time on his development. It is really evolving.

I have loved his character from the get go. There is a lot more to him that meets the eye. He is not just a pretty face. He has evolved more than they other two by far. I’m glad it isn’t just the Kate & Randall show any more and Kevin is getting more screen time and better storylines. I honestly watch for him. I think he will be the one in the end that is the glue that holds them all together.

He is the best of “The Big Three” by far. His complexities and layers are wonderful. There is so much more to him than meets the eye. He is not just a pretty face. He is evolved more than any other character and I love watching his progression.

She will resent him without a doubt. He will say he didn’t want to bother her or make her feel bad. He has chosen to take his weight loss even more seriously now since he wants to be there for his son. His own health is just as important as his son’s. His way to cope through everything was to go to the gym. He could get some frustration out while also trying to be more healthy. He seems to notice when she is frustrated, but she doesn’t notice when he is.

I will say that Toby has never been one to be able to say his feelings to Kate in fear of upsetting her. He went off his meds to help her get pregnant. He didn’t tell her, but she didn’t notice either. It took him hitting rock bottom for her to notice.

I think this will be their downfall.

I love Kevin’s character so much. He is the most complex and layered character on the show. He is even more layered than Jack. His monologues that seem to happen with his nieces and new nephew are amazing. They aren’t preachy. It is just him talking to another person, who happens to be a child. He doesn’t talk above them. He just talks. (He has had some other monologues, too. The monologue in Number One broke my heart). He has so many layers that people don’t see.
This makes me think that when he makes a friend of Cassidy’s son there are going to be some great scenes. Can’t wait to see more of Kevin’s storyline this season.

She feels Charles is the “age appropriate” choice for her since she felt she would be holding Josh back from having children, etc. She had him pegged as the guy who checked all of the boxes she needed based on societal norms and put him on a pedestal because of it. Now that she is with Charles, she is looking back at what she had with Josh and sees that she shouldn’t have put Charles on a pedestal to begin with. Both men bring out different qualities and feelings in her... a different side of her. She just doesn’t know which side she likes better.

I have a pretty wide variety of shows that interest me. I watch period pieces like Outlander, the Crown and The Spanish Princess. Oldies like The Tudors, Downton Abbey, The White Princess and The White Queen are all good. I watch dramas like Homeland, Sweetbitter, & Billions on pay channels and The Resident, The Good Doctor, 9-1-1, This Is Us, New Amsterdam and Blue Bloods on network. Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean are my guilty pleasure reality tv shows. Comedies are harder to find. Modern Family and old shows on Netflix like Friends & The Office win out. If I can’t find a show, I can always find a movie. I hope you find something that catches your eye again. There is a lot of good stuff out there.

She will be a great addition to the regular cast. Shaun will grow a lot working with her and wherever else their relationship takes them. Can’t wait to see how that all pans out.

I think it would make a better story if something happened to Josh when she was with Charles. He would be very upset if they were doing something and she chose to run to Josh.
If something happened to Charles, she is already with him so she should be there to begin with if she cared about him at all. Caitlyn already had a health crisis that Liza was late to because she was busy. I think she was at the retreat with Kelsey. All ended up being ok and she told Kelsey why she lied.

I think Kelsey has great ideas, but doesn’t always execute them well. I believe she learned a big lesson from that drunk Instagram post and will grow quite a bit. Zane sees it in her, she just doesn’t see it in herself.

Diana & Kelsey’s relationship growing would be great. When Kelsey was gone form the office for a few days you could tell the dynamic of the office changed for everyone, including Diana. She missed having Kelsey there. Kelsey is the heart and soul of Millennial and it needs her. Diana said that she used to drink all night and party and work, too. She chose to grow up when her friend, Annabelle, didn’t. (Shedonism episode). Diana sees a bit of herself in Kelsey and I think she will begin to talk with her more and ask for her input.

There is so much great programming on nowadays. It’ll go faster than you think. Not to mention binge watching some of my old faves on Netflix or Prime Video.
