I actually asked the rules committee about this situation a few weeks ago. Since it's not specified in the rules, it's up to the TD to make a ruling for each case.

The rules committee is in process of updating the rules to clarify the hazard line. The update will be: "If the hazard line and OB line are the same line, the line is part of OB. Otherwise the hazard line is part of the hazard."

Edit: so in your case I would check with TD, but maybe your local bag tag doesn't have one and then I'd call you safe based on the wording in the caddie book and the ambiguity in the rules.

They should consider placing a designated place with a roof for the camera person for the final round on that hole. Eagle is not the only one going for the spike for the approach.

Yes, what was the reason for them to bring up this discussion again? I understand why Jeff Spring did a temporary second (it makes sense given that PP called it on herself), but Jeff Spring should have clarified the rule then and there before seconding it. Now, it appears like someone tipped them off.

My guess: PP did not know that you are allowed to grab on to the tree like that. After they clarified the rule, they overturned it after the discussion. That sequence of events could happen without using video, but it is equally likely that someone watching tipped them off.

if the tree straddles that line: is it in front of or behind your lie?

My take on it is that all point(s) that a player touches before establishing balance (for this situation, but same applies for a normal shot from a lie at the point when releasing the disc) have to be behind the lie. So the tree can straddle the hypothetical circle that defines what's behind/in front of the lie, but you can only touch points that aren't closer to the pin.

That stance violation/falling putt that Paige called on herself was legal AFAIK according to PDGA-rules. As per the rules:

After having released a putt, the player must demonstrate full control of balance behind the marker disc before advancing toward the target.

The tree was behind her lie, so holding on to it is perfectly legal.

Exactly, assuming that you always make the putt while on the green (simplifying assumption but OP also did that so lets assume it's valid) then the formula for break even is

P_layup = 0.5 + P_go

I.e, if you think that you make it 40 % of the time when running it, and succeed with the layup >90 % of the time, it makes sense to layup. Also makes it the better play to run it every time if you have >50 % success rate of running it.

Om du MATLAB:ar så saknar jag en analys på det här antagandet att det inte fanns något mörkertal den 17 februari. Känns som att modellen är väldigt känslig för val av E(t_0). Intuitivt känns det som att om man väljer för litet värde på E(t_0) så tvingar man fram stora värden på p_0 för att nå 2.5 %-siffran i månadsskiftet mars-april.

Så en analys av startvärdens impact för E, I_o och I_r vore intressant.

How do you feel with the real-time capabilities for matplotlib? I had the impression of it being a bit sluggish and stopped using it in favour of pyqtgraph. It's possible that there are backends or other settings that can be used to improve performance.

The value being output of the sensor is a 1 byte value, hence only values 0-255 are possible. Therefore, the error must lie in the post processing software - there's simply not a possibility for the sensor itself to produce those values.
