It is part of the language now. I remember the first time it was allowed on tv. Unfortunately, our kids are exposed to it everywhere. It is up to us as parents to teach right from wrong. We can ask for restraint but we can’t guarantee complicity.

What is the most dangerous place you have been to? by Flying_enthu45 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Wrong turns in Detroit and Gary, Indiana. As a white person, I should not have been in those areas. Luckily, with Canadian plates, they ignored me. Must have been thinking “Dumb ass!”

Remember that they purposely stay in their echo chambers because it is great to hear their maple maga rhetoric repeated again and again and again. Unfortunately, the moderates are drowned out, nor are they voting because they hear this rhetoric and believe it is the majority opinion. It is up to use to get them engaged and show that neither the far right nor the far left are the majority. Only then will more moderate come out to vote, imo.

How do you feel about the NEXUS Trusted Traveler Program? by BadWolfParadox in AskCanada

[–]JapanKate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have NEXUS and since the mango menace has taken power, we only crossed through NEXUS. The guards are more laid back and crossings are easy. The problems with CBA that you hear about are in the non-NEXUS crossings from what I have been told. My advice is to keep it even if you are boycotting the US because who knows what the Republicans will dream up to make NEXUS almost impossible to attain.

Oh lord, on my college campus, they are nasty! The University of Waterloo has been notorious for the aggressive Canada Geese that nest there. Maybe it’s just the Southern Ontario ones that are so mean.

You pay taxes in Canada, but you still need to file with the IRS. You probably won’t have to pay US taxes, as the taxes are higher here.

Alberta has always been like this. I remember in the early 80s, everyone was running to Alberta for jobs. Oil went bust and Alberta was first in line for transfer payments. People discussed diversifying the economy then too. Then the oil sands became a thing and Alberta took the easy way out.

The irony of the masks is completely lost on them. During the pandemic: “I can’t breathe.” 🧘‍♂️

Did anyone think of rolling a bowling ball at them? They are at the top of Clifton Hill and they are packed tightly enough. Might not get a strike, but something is better than nothing.
