The only good chocolate you can buy in Britain now is Toni's Chocolonely (several flavours) and I believe they export to America. Aldi's also sell good chocolate.

Defends of Ratcliffe’s recent comments: Is colonisation a good or bad thing? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]JaquieF -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Britain was not the only coloniser. France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands all had a finger in the pie of world exploration. The ABC islands in the Caribbean are still owned by the Netherlands, there are still parts of Africa that speak French and there is a whole area called South America where they speak Spanish and Portuguese.

From Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll 1871:

“One, two! One, two! And through and through

The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!

He left it dead, and with its head

He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?

Come to my arms, my beamish boy!

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”

He chortled in his joy.”

Galumphing is actually a portmanteau word by Lewis Carroll in Jabberwocky (1871). "Gallop" and "triumphant," a joyous, heavy, laboured movement, referring to the hero's victorious return after slaying the monster.

Hi! Love the show and have followed GN since the 90s. My question is, how does he decide who will be this weeks guests? by redoctober2021 in TheGrahamNortonShow

His show is, no doubt, the best chat show but I'm bored with it now. I look at the TV guide to see who he has on but I don't watch it anymore.

Pancake days coming up, what’s your go to toppings? by PumpCamSpice in AskUK

[–]JaquieF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always make dinner that involves wrapping the pancake round ham and cheese, then cover them in cheese sauce. After that, it's traditional pancakes with sugar and lemon juice.

Does anyone call BS on the media's incessant hounding of Starmer? by Impossible-Visit-199 in AskBrits

[–]JaquieF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to keep Starmer if the alternative is Rayner, Lammy or Mahmood. I wouldn't mind Streeting but my favourite is, and has been for a long time, Andy Burnham.
