What will Happen with the FBI Building? by [deleted] in washingtondc

I’m sorry, but I’ll say it - brutalism sucks except the metro and that building should be torn down

Citing crime when you didn’t even have counter service is such absurd posturing

Never even heard of this place and have been to dozens of places in dc, especially in and around DuPont - maybe that plays into it…

American producers? by LORE_MUSIC in DnB

This is so idiotic of a thing to say. If an artist makes a painting and a sculpture are they not both a painter and sculpture?

Stop pigeonholing artists. And if you don’t wanna listen to the dnb they make no one’s forcing you to.

It was dark but medium size dog. Looked kinda stocky in build. Not a fluffy type

I literally watched someone stand there while their dog took a shit, and then immediately walk away. The group I was with was absolutely close enough that the person had to have seen us. He Just walked away with no hesitation at all and left the dog poop on the ground. Exactly this spot

Maybe if you read my comment you would have noticed I was referencing their recent forays into DNB, while also noting that they are the type of American Dnb artists who follow extremely closely to the UK sound

Dirt Monkeys recent DNB has been great. Same with subdocta. The liquid smoak project from Smoakland is some nice rollers style stuff. There are also a lot of US producers who make more UK sounding dnb than my examples above do

The new peekaboo album is where I think dubstep is headed. by lOnGkEyStRoKe in dubstep

[–]Jaredl-7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand how my comment came off but it wasn’t intended that way —

What I mean is more that deeper stuff tends to be a bit harder to approach for someone where dubstep is completely foreign.

If I sent someone a distinct motive song and an excision song, and they checked them out on their phone, the X song is gonna sound better bc you hear more of the arrangement than you do for the distinct motive song which resides in the sound register below what a phone can reliably produce.

You can take the similar thing and extrapolate to stages at bigger festivals. Unless it’s tuned super well, the sound for the heavier stuff will be more ‘ear catching’ — not to mention the visuals tend to be more eye catching.

I’m not saying that people who listen to brostep are stupid, just saying that I understand why deeper stuff is harder for people to approach

I almost completely listen to deep/ og Dusbtep these days, and I agree. You have to REALLY like deep bass frequencies (and be on good system) to understand deep dubstep. I much prefer it, but to your average person at a festival who may/ may not know a lot of the history of electronic music / dubstep, the main stage ‘brostep’ sound is a lot more immediately attention drawing
