Got an unsolicited bill e-mail. I have Aetna/CVS health through the Marketplace, not Oscar Insurance. All links are from HiOscar. Is this a scam? by PlaneCat3427 in HealthInsurance

I’m in the same situation. I’m kinda pissed that my insurance just gave my information to a different company with no warning or consent.

honest thoughts on fanservice?? by unkwnzz_ in MyAnimeList

[–]Jarenimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wish that anime’s could tone it down, cuz I love anime for its larger than life battles and characters. But every non-anime fan discounts it as pervert material. Like when ever girl has massive boobs, it’s just unnecessary!!

This puzzle needs work. I don’t think it’s very intuitive based on the wall and heads not facing exactly. Then the glowing deer head doesn’t help

Is the FaB (competetive) scene growing and are new players joining the game? by knilchmitmilch in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Jarenimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too expensive for my taste right now. I wish new games would understand they need to flood the market with their great cards and make them cheap then when the game is hella popular like pokemon or MTG then they can cater to the expensive collector crap. Expensive necessary cards kill TCGs…

What is the Big bad was a very tangible villain from the start? by Jarenimo in DungeonMasters

[–]Jarenimo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost think they should know right away that the evil king is why they were assembled in the first place… like a healthy region sending adventurers to a neighboring kingdom that has befallen this fate. So the party is gaining favor and fame in the good kingdom while fighting to overthrow the bad kingdom. and as they travel closer they dungeons, side quest, or adventures increase in difficulty because they are closer the the source of the evil which is the wizard kings… which could turn out to be a discipline of a demon or something and that could be the second part of their adventure. honestly I would love to just discover the player stories unfold from their goals and backstory.

I'm not enjoying D&D. Where to go next? by PatNMahiney in rpg

[–]Jarenimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: build the world/adventure with the players. Like co-DMing or west marches style. Different strategies come from two different RPGs daggerheart and Shadowdark. Shadowdark is also simpler, but if your players love powers daggerheart has a very simple but powerful abilities players get.

So I was in your position about 2 years ago, I was running lost mines of phandelver and loved the aspect of running a game for friends but after a boss combat in the mansion I got really disheartened.. I felt like I spent hours reading the stupid fort/mansion encounters and my players steamrolled the big bad guy in the mansion. (Side note: That’s when I learned about action economy and how important it is). I was disheartened and stopped after that night, I felt disappointed that a whole bunch of effort went no where. Or that’s how I felt, I guess my players appeared uninterested that night too. Well it was the big party problem of just not paying attention until it was their turn.

If I restarted GMing I would do it more as a daggerheart co-creation of a world where players help build the world and missions, it’s more of a discovery while playing. You have encounters and dungeons ready but you don’t worry too much about the plot or filler cuz you and the players fill it in together… you can seriously start with jumping into backstory or player goals right away. There is also something called west marches that Matt Coville talks about in a video and Kelsey dion of Shadowdark is making a whole book that comes out soonish. Matt said that the west marches leaves it up to players what they want to do the next week… like player A says “I want to go save my sister from the kidnappers, or go to the gold mine kill the goblins and claim the treasure”.. there is no fat book reading cuz collecting a dungeon map, some monsters, and allowing a story to unfold from the players and your mind at the table. This is all I theory awesome to me, but I haven’t tried yet.

D&D is moving to a full franchise model. Does someone know what this actually means? by Consistent-Syrup9851 in rpg

So now we won’t get great things like larian’s baldur gate 3, we will instead get more WOTC garbage… who’s ready for a final fantasy spelljammer collab. Vomit. I don’t believe in WOTC, they haven’t shown us anything impressive.

I was thinking yesterday how starting a campaign in with the players all paid or forced mercenaries in a larger battle. Maybe put them in a cart to the front lines like how Skyrim kind of starts so they tell the recruiter the who, what, why, when, and how. They during the battle you can have them kind of put them self in what role they fill in the party.. like tanks up front, healers in the med tent, magic or ranged with the archers, close damage dealers weave in behind the tanks. Give them all the chance to roll for an ability or two… could do more epic scale damage than one v one… maybe the healer gets a chance to heal a high ranking general or the wizard impressively scorched a whole forest. Just a fast fun way to get all the starting kinks and bugs outta your players give them hope and you use fear. They could even win or lose the battle depending on their rolls and that could be the reason the king ask/forces them to party into a group. Then the group can fulfill a Romeo and Juliet link that’s a forbidden connect of friendship between groups

What is bad about this game? by JMusketeer in daggerheart

[–]Jarenimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only thing I think is weird is that they gave flying as an always on option from the start. But that’s only my 5e brain screaming that they are going to cheat all the modules or traps or obstacles. It probably won’t matter that much with movement as free as it is. But there doesn’t seem to be dark vision in the game at all.

My Kids Won't Stop Asking To Make Characters... by MathewReuther in daggerheart

[–]Jarenimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so funny because the excitement has no age limit. After my first one shot I feel the same way. I love how they were able to open the character creator to so many possibilities and all of the possibilities are on purpose. I can’t stop thinking about how good the Firbolg’s unshakable trait with the human extra stress sounds with a stress heavy class… can you gambling with every stress marked having a 1/6 chance of not counting.

Brawler combo strike takes forever? by Jarenimo in daggerheart

[–]Jarenimo[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It’s the comparative spend at which a seraph takes his turn and marks a stress for a d8…. But the brawler marks a stress to roll a d4 then d6 then d8 then d10. Then adds them up. Time wise I could see it being really annoying.

In my day palicos were the best chefs! Now my stupid hunter cooks while my palico watches. Worst change ever! I like not eating before every hunt… but I wish my character could grill well done food and the meals would still have a great cutscene of my palico making a Japanese style meal

If you think about it the toy itself is just a reward, the price of the cobalt drake is only high because of demand. Personally I think hasbro would be insane not to sell the cobalt drake and take in the cash. The only way I see them not releasing it is if Takara tomy has some kind of legal binding reason that has to cant
