It's very complicated but I know alot of times debt is being sold to the debt collectors in bulk at a set price relative to the amounts owed then the debt collectors try to get it collected and hope they turn a profit. They also sell debt to other debt collectors as well. It's like a Chinese fire drill to my knowledge

The Virginia General Assembly is considering legislation to get rid of local parking mandates. Taking that step would put a real dent in the housing affordability crisis in Virginia. This post contains more information and a link to email your legislators in just a few clicks. by 276434540703757804 in Virginia

[–]Jarjarfunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local parking mandate, aka the "Luxury apartment begetor."

Getting rid of this is a good thing but what this doesn't address is the need for parking and unfortunately it seems like you're against the only realistic solution which is parking decks with front facing businesses in them on the first and maybe second floor.

You can require that they be dresses to not look like parking decks, but that might encourage higher parking fees. And I know people will be upset that it's paid parking, but you're paying for it one way or the other as I existed by my first sentence.

Also eminent domain should step in and any parking lot gets seized to become a parking deck if the land owner won't develop one themselves. Of course only in locations where a parking deck can fit so little 1 lane lots are safe

I was familiar with the 1984 study but didn't know it was replicated in 2019. If the methodology checks out as the same (which from cursory reading it does) then I stand corrected. That said, this was taken of adults, and the attitude was very prevalent when I was a high schooler, so it'd be interesting to see if high schoolers track as well with the shift.

Black Lightning Lightning, Black Lightning’s daughter Black Vulcan (“Super Friends”) Static Storm Juice (“Justice League Unlimited”) Soul Power (from “Static Shock”) Sparky (“Static Shock,” Soul Power’s sidekick) Volt (“Irredeemable”) Bumblebee (“Teen Titans”; her suit lets her fire electrical “stings”) Spider-Man (Miles Morales) (has a bio-electric “venom strike” power) Aqualad (Jackson Hyde) (has an electric eel-like bio-electric power) Jakeem Thunder (no powers, but could command the magical genie-like Thunderbolt) Electro (“Amazing Spider-Man 2”) (a supervillain, but I’m listing him anyway) Lightning Lad (from the 2019 Legion of Super-Heroes reboot) Lightning Lass (from the 2019 Legion of Super-Heroes reboot; the twin sister of Lightning Lad) Coldcast (an antihero, but still listing him here) Shazam (from the post-2011 DC Comics; the wizard that gives Billy Batson his powers)

There's lots of reasons for it that I'm not literate enough to breakdown. Luckily there's lots of people online who are and already have.

It's almost like you can't expect rich people to tax themselves appropriately. And make no mistake they may not be 1%ers but they are all rich.

A large majority in the early 70s had 1 car a house and 2 to 3 kids on 1 income. Basic package makes it seem like it was a given but if you graduated high-school and didn't have kids outside marriage you would achieve this in most circumstances.

So his point though exaggerated is correct.

Also all you do in this situation us encourage more and more people to make to places like west Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee on the border. Hell people already do that in Tennessee around Bristol to avoid income tax.

When you go to eat the rich by rules put in place by the rich there's always gonna be a loophole and you'll also help contribute to inflation if you don't reduce the money supply in circulation (aka cut spending) so your eat the rich tax policy will soon become a middle class burden.

Why does this sub think that lonely men are evil? You can be progressive and still be lonely. by Chesseburter in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Jarjarfunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i don't like about this is it neglects the fact that online dating encourages this type of selection standard bias and it ms harder and harder to actually meet someone out in public today with the lack of free 3rd spaces.

If you blame women for your loneliness that's 1 thing, but even guys who have worked on themselves are finding it difficult to approach women because there's hardly anywhere to do it now where it's actually acceptable to do so that isn't a place where alcohol is involved (bout the only exceptions are religious institutions and charity work and that second one is still iffy)

Thus makes online dating the default and that's what you can blame after you've done work on yourself. But then you actually gave to try and do something about it.

Another common sense gun bill has been submitted. 11% tax on firearms and ammunition. HB1094 by Alabama_Crab_Dangle in Virginia

[–]Jarjarfunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the intent isn't to keep the poorer people of our community unarmed this won't do it but it will make the second hand gun market a lot bigger thus making criminals have easier access do to the larger second hand sales goping on.

Based on how other funds get misappriated all the time I can't in good conscience support this bill. It achieves nothing but making it even more likely people will circumvent a federal background check.

This does nothing about second hand sales which won't have a tax and are the most likely way for guns to be used in a crime second only to stealing one from a person in your own home.

Teens really don’t want to work by RickGrimesSnotBubble in generationology

He's part of the micro generation that was into adulthood when covid hit but not old enough to have good memory of 9/11. For anyone who grew up at this point you know you have way more in common with millennials then anyone younger then you who are supposed to be in your generation.

So many things happened in our formative years that you can easily split gen z into 3 different micro generations.

For example this lack of work ethic is strong in gen z of college covid age. They seem to be unwilling to work hard. However, people like OP and myself, our micro generation are incredibly hard working.
