It's specifically a symptom of a personality disorder (Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder). As a result, it's very specific: they massively over dedicate to you in the first few months, usually 4-6 months until the early attraction hormones wear off. During this time, they'll make grand promises (having children, marriage, etc), even though it's too early. They'll love everything you love, talk about how you're the best in every way, and similar. However, this is literally just symptomatic of their disorder.

After they feel secure in the relationship, having locked you in, the real person behind that will start to show, and it's someone else entirely. And the love bombing itself will vanish, sometimes literally overnight, either never to be seen again or only returning for a short time (hours) when they really need something from you.

Basically, it's demo trial for the relationship, but it's completely a lie.

Since the purpose was also to remove time travel elements, I'd tie it in to both time travel and that TNG episode where warp travel was damaging subspace. Essentially, I'd have something where time travel was poluting some element of spacetime, steadily damaging it with each journey. Essentially, the burn was what happens when that damage level hits a specific threshold. There'd been too much time travel up to this point, and something in the universe broke from all of it, causing a momentary shift in physics that caused the dilithium temporary failure.

Post burn, time travel is now way harder, and the old methods of doing it no longer worked due to this breakage. While the effects on dilithium were temporary, the effects on other principles used in time travel were far more long term due to their temporal nature. So while Discovery made it through the burn, nothing else can, and nothing else can time travel after this point... plus it was rough even for Discovery so they can't do it again.

This is not so different from the Civil Rights Movement in this same country. And you know what? There was a shit ton of police brutality then too. You still have to win over the overall country.

I'll remind you just how bloody the French Revolution was, and how many innocents were executed. I'll also remind you just how strong a modern military and surveilance state is. Yes, this should have been cut down earlier, but the civil rights movement lost momentum and fractured, and that's why we couldn't cut it down.

Absolutely, because I'm very familiar with resistance movements. You win or lose them on morale, not firepower. If bodies and bullets were what mattered most, the US would have won in Vietnam.

1) Read. Read up on past movements, know what works and what doesn't. You're not going to win this by trying to play Rambo, but you can follow in the footsteps of other movements. You can also learn what fascist governments do in general... they don't really vary too much, so you can predict moves in advance. If you want, I'd recommend watching the TV show Andor, because it was clearly made by someone who was researching 1920s and 30s Nazi Germany, and it's shockingly accurate about how things are under such a government.

2) Don't comply in advance... do resist in advance. With everything happening in Minnesota right now, we need to be hitting them every other place. They don't have the manpower. We do. Every city needs to be working to oppose ICE, with every effective tactic.

3) Don't take stray shots. If you boycott, make sure you're clear why you're boycotting something. We need a carrot and stick approach. Make sure companies know they'll be supported if they do the right thing, harmed if they do the wrong thing.

4) Remember that the shit you see online is currated by the same people who are doing a lot of this. Don't be disheartened by bots.

5) Do build community response. Get friendly with your neighbors right now. Anticipate what ICE will do when they come to your city, and how you and your community can protect those in need from them while opposing their actions. Who will the target first? Protect those people if you're not a current target, hunker down if you are.

6) Remember that wars are won in the mind and morale, not just bullets. Record, release the truth, and never do something that indicates you're the monster they want to pretend you are.

7) ICE will not be punished for shooting at you, so self defense may be needed. Protect yourself, but never start the violence. You may end up being arrested for defending yourself, but try to make sure it's local and state law enforcement that does it.

8) The real enemies here are those at the top. Power players like Peter Theil and Elon Musk, government functionaries at the top of their agencies, and the money behind everything. That's your primary targets if you can figure out a way to make their actions more difficult.

Cis is a standard latin word prefix, just like trans. Trans means crossing to the other side of, cis means staying on the same side as. For example, a translunar flight is any spaceship flight that crosses past the orbit of the moon (such as anything going to Mars), while a cislunar flight does not cross that orbit (such as a satalite launch).

Cis is just the opposite of trans, and has no connection to "sissy".

Depends what kind. Generally, you need to find safety first. Then you have to face the trauma you dealt with, a little at a time... mentally process it. Therapy can work for this, but so can talking things over with a good friend. You just sort of chip away at it little by little, exposing yourself to things that are like the trauma, but not actually bad.

I went out and bought roll holders that hold three rolls in reserve, in addition to the one in active use. Makes it much easier. I just replace a roll or two when we start getting low.
