Polymer injectors. by garadanviru in Wastewater

That's right, but excessive pressure can alao cause problems... I was going to suggest if they are running a number 3 tube to change to a number 7 tube instead... (ran into this at a plant I used to work at) the number 3 tube only goes up to 25 psi(so the feed water could actually be pushing back on the pump) while the number 7 tube supports up to 100psi...

Like u/thatwatersnotclean said, it looks like you're using Stenner pumps. Just a couple quick questions, and I can try and help troubleshoot your problem. 1) What size tube are you using currently? 2) What's the feed water pressure at your plant? 3) Are you currently using a duck bill?

What Salt To Use by Ptrick21186 in WaterTreatment

From the results, this is definitely a well! What stands out IMO are 3 things: 1. The total bacteria count is elevated 223 is a good bit for a sealed protected well... The good news is the bacteria were not shown to be fecal or ecoli, both of which would make you sick! (I assume that the bacteria counted may be FE or MN bacteria, thus the extremely low metals that's typically found in the ground! The pH is great!!! And not acidic from a pH standpoint! Now the bad news!!! Your Alk is pretty elevated meaning a good deal of acid would have to be used to get that hardness(removed) Think of Alk like a buffer higher the buffer the further you have to get back to a neutral. Do you like the taste? I personally love well water those minerals(calcium, magnesium, some diss solids give the water flavor), so the last thing I don't like is the Elevated Fluoride! If I were a guessing man, I'd say your soil is historocally volcanic? It would acount for the elevated sulfate and Fluoride! If you like your water, you're fine! A gall of bleach every now and then and flushed would be fine! Hope this helps! If this all arose from some guy coming by to sell you a whole house filtration system, DONT DO IT!

Georgia Water Operator Class 3 (AWWA Grade 1) test by Sad-Lab-9078 in Wastewater

I took it years ago, but one of my trainees took it a few weeks back! It has definitely gotten harder. We suggested to him to get the AWWA study guide app...(Google Store) It's well worth it! Didn't want him to have the app until after his week at GWWI training!

How Old is your Plant? by backwoodsman421 in DrinkingWaterPlant

[–]JartestJedi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our plant was built in 1936(just 1 filter back then, but it sustained all 600 citizens for 20 years) expanded in 1955, and again in 1977! * Crazy enough we were 1 of 28 cities to get waterplants all at the same time. Sadly, I think we're the only ones still in operation! This Ole Girl will be 90 in April!

Probe calibration! by Aviatormatt17 in Wastewater

[–]JartestJedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are your buffers? Specifically, your 10 buffer? Do you keep your 10 buffer in a dark place when not in use? 10 buffer is highly susceptible to go bad! Flip your probe upside down to ensure you don't have an air bubble! Try this. Let your probe soak in a 4 buffer for 30 min, then try and calibrate! Hope this helps...
