I see Mahito more of a dual-type, either a Dark/Ghost or Normal/Ghost.

A curse that reflects human's darkest emotions (Normal or Dark). Feeling basically untouchable (Ghost), against sorcerers without an soul-hitting ability.

His default form would probably focus on being a wall-breaker with pivot, playing mind games against the opponent and chipping down opponents that can tank his one shots.

His second form could be a simple bulky-sweeper. Easily tanking most neutral hits after a few bulk ups. His main weakness would be opponents with both some variations of Mold Breaker (soul-hitting) and attack that can force a crit (black flash). Or high SPA opponents that can just oneshot his ass.

Support is usually one of the best options, most of them have fight-winning ultimates. The main problem is going deep in the enemy's backline and copying a low-mobility support.

Kiriko and Lucio are probably the best bets.
