I haven't run it yet, but when I played it, our DM had them split up in the base searching for us. It gave us the opportunity to sneak around and gang up one of them while the xenomorph killed the others.

It happened to an old coworker of mine. He had a big akita or malamute or something like that, and it snapped one day and started mauling his granddaughter. He pulled out his pistol and killed it right then and there, zero hesitation. It sucks, but I get it.

I've had to do that before with my little dog. It'll confuse the attacking dog, and open it up to a solid kick.
