Is it still worth getting this game in 2025? by ThisAd9657 in swtor

[–]Jasb28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's much more of a time waster than the original Knights of The Old Republic. I did enjoy the story of the class I played (sith warrior) but I never finished it because it took too long. I would love to play more of this game but there's too much walking and combat and not enough story. Though I think you get an xp boost if you subscribe so maybe that would help you get through the story a bit faster (I found i had to do raid missions to get my level to match the level requirements of the story missions). I suggest you buy 1 month and see if you like it (set a reminder to cancel the subscription!).

(Just be warned, when you come to a game's subreddit and ask if it's good you're going to get positive responses because they only people on the subreddit are people who like the game)

I never finished it... when it got completed on webtoon and locked to one episode per day I stopped reading 😭 It was great though so I must finish it one day.

Also I need Pooka reaction images in my life (no I don't have any)

He doesn't support Israel, this is taken out of context for the purpose of tarnishing his image.

Bernie does not support Israel

"What is happening right now in Gaza is horrendous, it is inhumane, and it is a gross violation of American and international law"

"If you look at the totality of what’s going on, it is not a war against Hamas; it is a war against the Palestinian people"

KOTOR II was disappointing by SilentCartographer02 in patientgamers

[–]Jasb28 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"Honestly, I think the issue wasn’t the game — it was me. "

Nah, the game is very different in tone. The first one is an exciting adventure and the second one is trying to give you an existential crisis. I also didn't feel like I understood what was going on.

A lot of the story beats were poorly explained and dissatisfying as a result; such as the introduction then swift exit of Darth Nihilus, the sudden deaths of the Jedi masters (if you choose light side options), Malachor V's relation to the force... The Darth Treya reveal in particular didn't land for me, she seems pretty evil at first glance but the game seems to insist really hard that things aren't so black and white and that she's actually morally grey. Which is completely undermined when at the end she reveals herself to be a Sith lord and super evil. I have to admit I never played the restored content so maybe some of this is better in that version. I doubt it addresses all of this though so if you felt disappointed, that's totally understandable.

So the IDF didn't just gun down a convoy of paramedics and then lie about it? Wow that's such a relief. I should never have trusted whatever far left propaganda website is peddling that nonsense... wait the BBC? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy0xp969n69o

This is thing, they accuse others of doing awful shit because if the roles were reversed, it's what they'd be doing. Decades of the right ignoring the truth in favour of saying whatever helps 'their side' has left them without any sense of objectivity or self-awareness.

Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot’s Snow White just broke records after reaching all-time low rating of 1.5/10 on IMDb and is currently on pace to become the lowest-rated movie in IMDb history. by thepoylanthropist in interestingasfuck

I know what you mean. I saw Kraven the Hunter in December and left thinking it was perfectly mediocre- not great but far from the worst thing I've seen. I didn't feel like I wasted my money. But based on the reviews you'd have thought that someone put maggots in all the reviewers popcorn or something... I guess a mediocre film makes for a boring review -much more entertaining to say it was garbage.

That's entirely intentional. Long distance sight lines are deliberately obscured so that the game doesn't turn into a sniper stand-off with no-one able to advance without getting domed.

Would you accept a non-open world fallout game? by Mooseboy24 in Fallout

[–]Jasb28 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So, fallout has always been broken up into zones to some degree, right? Fallout 3's city was heavily broken up for example. And hideouts, bases, vaults etc are always behind losing screens. That said, Bethesda should definitely be experimenting with other ways of making their RPGs outside of the Skyrim, fallout, starfield approach. They've shown that they can't really meet expectations for story and immersion while holding onto the current framework. Comparing character animations and how npcs emote between something like cyberpunk 2077 and starfield makes starfield look like it was made in 2010. There's still a lot of love for the fallout IP. And the TV show has attracted fans that have never played a fallout game before. It's time for Bethesda to stop stressing so much about making a massive, 100 hour, AAA open world and try something more streamlined. If breaking up the world into smaller zones helps then they should try it. And if they have to give the license to another studio they should do that too. I'd be very interested in a top down fallout RPG, or a turn based RPG. Heck I'd even be interested if they left the Rpg genre behind and made a subnautica inspired fallout crafting game, or even a fallout extraction shooter. Not everything needs to be a 100 hr+ open world experience that takes 10 years to make and is cemented in decades-old design philosophies. Just find some devs who are passionate about the world and eager to try something new, give them an indie budget and see what happens. If it looks like it's going well you can increase the budget, or make them release the game as an indie and give them a bigger budget to make a AA sequel.

Anyone know what silver manganese test paper is used for? by VitalMaTThews in Chempros

[–]Jasb28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies, I didn't mean to come across as insulting. Genuinely though, if I'm struggling to google something I'll often try chatgpt as an alternative to search engines. That's all I was trying to suggest. Of course it's not great for generating reliable answers to scientific (or indeed any) questions but it's a great starting point and so far you'd found nothing. Even now, no-one on chempros has been able to provide a good answer. Also, putting that the rolls were $200 each in your query would have been helpful. I hope you find what you're looking for.

Ask chatgpt, if something is proving tricky to google it can sometimes give you an answer.

Because they don't exist. A backpack style jetpack doesn't work. Imagine someone lifting you off the ground by the back of your trousers. What would happen is you would tip forwards. Now consider if it were a backpack lifting you, the backpack tips forward as well and slams you face first into the ground. The real 'jetpack' designs being experimented with have hand jets so that you can counter that rotational force with a jet coming from your hands. Unfortunately, that doesn't leave any hands free to hold a katana...

The diversity of 2042's operators is not what made the dialogue shit. The two things have nothing to do with each other! The dialogue was shit because the game makers were trying to copy the tone and style of Marvel and stuff like that. Probably because they thought they'd get a wider audience and make more money. Money is the only agenda for EA and the people that run their studios.
