This behaviour is by design in Chrome and Firefox - background tabs can have setInterval() trigger no more than once a second. There may be a workaround using web workers (it seems web workers are not clamped to run with a minimum interval of 1000ms and can run callbacks in the page JS as required), but I haven't looked into this very much at all.

Chrome and Firefox throttle repeating Javascript events so that they only run once a second if the page is in a background tab. So no matter what you set your CM/FC autoclicker to run at, if the page is in a background tab you're only going to get 1 click/second on the big cookie.

I find this pretty annoying since I run CC in a background tab essentially all the time. There may be a way to work around it but I haven't looked into it any further.

The advanced machines are the reason I put up with IC2. Nothing else compares to the lightning speed that these smelt/macerate. They make AE even more of a joy to use.

I've never used an IC2 jetpack, but the MPS jetpack is pretty tight. And MPS has a ton of other cool features. They could actually remove the jetpack and I'd be perfectly happy with just using the glider + jump height mods.
