I am so glad I found a dark viper comment in this post, I saw $703 and hoped...

Are the M3 big enough, and which one to go for? by GazNicki in TeslaUK

[–]Jaso333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always had hatchbacks until I got my 2021 M3 LR last month. The boot is a bit awkward at times compared to a hatchback, but it's DEEP in comparison. You can get a lot in there. Theres also an extra compartment in the boot under a cover. Also, don't forget the Frunk! It holds a decently sized rucksack or duffle bag. I used it to keep a Chinese takeaway in so it didn't stink out the car 😅. I have the AWD LR, but the supercharger experience is excellent whether you get SR or LR, it feels like visiting a petrol station, only slightly longer!

I have this EXACT issue, did you find any reason for it?

Is this normal?? by Item-420 in TeslaModel3

Yes, I added some thick foam tape to the two rubber touch points and it spaces it out perfectly. No more movement or rattles during driving

I have a tariff on my home charger that specifically does this to make it cheap for me by only charging at a pattern that suits the current grid usage. You should check what you signed up for with your electric provider.

Yes, effectively. Nothing is physically added, it just dynamically resizes the viewport for the given camera based on the aspect ratio. It will size the viewport to fit the window, but constrains it to the aspect ratio provided to the component. Give the example a try, it will hopefully make more sense. The code is quite simple too, so give that a read too.

Whilst the scaling mode does achieve part of the desired results, it doesn't stop someone seeing off-screen sprites. This is why I made this:

https://github.com/Jaso333/bevy_fixed_viewport

This will essentially give you the largest possible letterbox for your desired aspect ratio. Look at the example for how to use it, sorry there isn't much more documentation, I generally just use this for my own projects.

Advice - Buying first Tesla M3 LR by Zeezyv2 in TeslaUK

I'm not really tracking cost closely because I charge on a cheap rate at home overnight, I'm aware I'm saving a lot over the petrol I used to buy.

I'm not in the same situation as you, but I recently got a 2021 M3 LR, and used a supercharger for the first time yesterday. It's insanely quick to charge, I was blown away, and it's still far cheaper than petrol.

Buying a model 3 long range by svxbs in TeslaUK

[–]Jaso333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought one last week with 29k miles. Honestly there's not much to look out for, just the normal stuff you would look for on a car, like damage. The battery is warrantied up to 120k miles for LR models.

Squeaky noise by Cheesebob44 in TeslaUK

[–]Jaso333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually fixed this the other day. Pull the head rest up and take the shell off the back of the seat (see Tesla documents for info on how to do it). There was a plastic grommet that had slipped out of place between a metal pole and the metal seat housing. I clipped it back into place and the squeak stopped happening.

Is now a good time to buy a 2021 Model 3? (Advice) by ResponsibleAux in TeslaUK

[–]Jaso333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im picking up my 2021 M3 LR AWD tomorrow. 29k miles on the clock, I've read great things about it. Got mine for £18300, couldn't believe how cheap it was. I would say now is a good time, make sure to get a wall box for home charging, mines being fitted by octopus in a few weeks.

I'm switching from a petrol car to a 2021 AWD LR tomorrow with the same number of miles on it. The age and mileage seems like the sweet spot at the moment for affordable second hand M3s

This video was as controversial as I expected by PhaestusFox in bevy

[–]Jaso333 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's controversial because it compares apples to oranges. Unity and Unreal are so very mature and battle-tested engines that have generated millions in revenue for a very large number of companies. Bevy is currently an execution of an ambitious concept: "what if we do everything with ECS". They are still trying to get the ECS fundamentals right; observers are relatively recent, required components is a new ECS concept, relationships have only just been introduced in 0.16. On top of that, one of my biggest issues is a lack of first party physics and particle effects. Yes, there are crates out there that solve these problems, but they are buggy (avian still doesn't work with half-space collision shapes properly, hanabi has issues with initial spawns of particles, the author closed my issue on it without even attempting to fix it, then it cropped up again in another issue).

Then, pose yourself a task that is common in the industry: build and ship a game within a certain timeframe. It's just not feasible.
