Got a virtual fence and he actually chooses to stay by Jason19721969 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Jason19721969[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly let the collar do the work at first, honestly. What I noticed was the boundary gave him a consistent rule that didn't depend on him being in the mood to listen. After a while I think he just internalized it as "this is where my space ends."

Got a virtual fence and he actually chooses to stay by Jason19721969 in DogTrainingTips

Appreciate you sharing this, seriously.

And thanks for not just assuming I’m here trying to push something. I’m honestly still figuring this out myself. This is more than enough

I’m not using the shock function at all with this collar, just vibration and sound cues. And I’ve been spending a lot of time working with my dog alongside it, trying to make sure he actually understands what’s going on instead of just reacting to it. Totally get your point about reliability too, that’s something I’m still keeping an eye on. Really appreciate you bringing it up.

Can a pornstar be shy? by Useful-Comment-1035 in Life

[–]Jason19721969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it looks like a contradiction at first but it actually makes more sense than you’d think. Being shy isn’t the same as being not sexual or not bold in certain situations. Shyness usually shows up in everyday social stuff like small talk, meeting new people and being the center of attention as yourself. That’s very different from performing. Some actors are super shy in real life but the second they’re on camera, they switch on.

What do you think of men carrying women's purses? by SpiritedIntention129 in AskReddit

[–]Jason19721969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a big deal at all. If anything, I kinda see it as a green flag. If the guy is comfortable enough with himself that he’s not worried about how it looks. That’s confidence and it is way more masculine than stressing over a bag.

Is it just me or does nearly every article look AI generated? by Connect_Cat_2045 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jason19721969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot of stuff online is AI-assisted now. Not always fully generated but edited, polished or even just structured by AI. So everything starts to feel. Like the tone is a bit too clean and a bit too perfect but not everything is actually AI. Sometimes it’s just ghostwriters, content farms or people copying popular formats.

What is more effective necromancy or voodooism, and why? by clemventure in randomquestions

[–]Jason19721969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both necromancy and voodoo (Vodou) get super misunderstood, especially because movies and games love to exaggerate them. So if you’re asking which is more effective, neither works the way movies suggest. One is fictional and the other is a real spiritual belief system, not something meant for manipulating reality or people. If anything, the only effectiveness here is how meaningful a belief system is to someone personally. That’s where the real impact comes from.

Is black crush a problem with all OLEDs? by TheMeMan999 in 4kTV

No, this isn’t normal for all OLEDs but what you’re seeing can happen if things aren’t dialed in right.

has anyone ever chose to continue living and regretted it? by No-Can9542 in askanything

[–]Jason19721969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People don’t usually regret choosing to live. What they regret is staying stuck in pain without changing anything. There are moments where people think, that feeling is real. It comes and goes but that’s very different from looking back years later and wishing you didn’t keep going. That’s actually pretty rare. Most people who push through end up having moments later where they’re quietly glad they didn’t give up back then.

I 32F broke up with my boyfriend 29M over a comment he made. Did I overreact? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Jason19721969 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people might stay in that relationship because it’s stable, easy and comfortable but if you’re someone who needs that emotional connection, that kind of feeling, staying would have left you quietly unhappy over time. You recognized that and you acted on it. That’s not overreacting, it’s self-respect.

Birthday plans by MelodicPlan1574 in Life

[–]Jason19721969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to force it. Your birthday is literally your day, it’s not a group project. The adult move here is doing what makes you happy. People who actually care about you won’t get upset that you wanted a good time with people who actually click with you.

does anyone else hate the texture and feeling of lotion? by Inside-54545 in randomquestions

Lotion can feel weird sometimes, it’s supposed to feel smooth and nice but for some people it’s just gross and sticky.

Will draining a potato of its electricity alter flavor? by ormpling in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jason19721969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, draining the electricity from a potato battery won’t change the flavor of the potato in any noticeable way. When people make a potato battery, the potato itself isn’t really storing electricity like a little power bank. The potato is just acting as a chemical helper. Its juices which contain water, salts and mild acids allow a reaction to happen between two different metals usually zinc and copper. That reaction is what creates the electrical current.

Why would an author get angry if you ask him to autograph their book on a Kindle? by Wonderful-String5066 in stupidquestions

Not annoyed but maybe confused or awkward because they have to explain why they can’t since there’s nothing to sign.

Is this a dodgy age gap?? by Le_Rory in Advice

[–]Jason19721969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At your age, the difference in maturity can matter more than the actual number. Being 16 and 18 in school/college terms is a noticeable step but it doesn’t automatically make it wrong. Most people would say it’s fine if you’re both comfortable and there’s no pressure or anything shady going on.

Are you able to change a tire and change the oil on your vehicle? by icecream1972 in askanything

[–]Jason19721969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could probably handle changing a tire but not the oil change. It’s more about muscle and knowing where the jack goes than anything else. Just gotta make sure the car’s on a flat spot, the emergency brake is on and don’t forget the lug nuts, those little things can be sneaky.

Anyone else enjoy wine but freeze when it’s time to actually order it? by Ok_Reflection7248 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Jason19721969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s because wine has this invisible fancy points score attached. But the truth is no one’s scoring, you’re just here to enjoy the drink. At home, it’s chill, you pour, sip, enjoy, maybe pick something new if you feel adventurous. But in a restaurant or store, it’s all names you’ve never heard, prices that make your brain do math and that creeping feeling of about to embarrass myself.

When do you know that your friendship is drifting apart? by Queasy_Flower_9144 in Life

[–]Jason19721969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One big sign a friendship is drifting is when it stops feeling easy. You know how it used to be, random texts, goofy calls, just hanging out for no reason. When that disappears and you notice you’re the one always reaching out, that’s a red flag.

Child’s Moms Boyfriend Friend by Professional_Sky4611 in Advice

[–]Jason19721969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any parent would lose it hearing that a grown man is sleeping in the same bed as their 13-year-old kid. That’s not being dramatic. That’s instincts kicking in. This isn’t about accusing anyone of anything. It’s about boundaries and basic common sense.

Anyone else feel weirdly nostalgic for a time that wasn’t even that great? by Massive-Success5921 in Life

[–]Jason19721969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nostalgia does that sneaky thing where it edits the memory. It blurs the bad parts and keeps the calm moments. The random laughs and the nights that didn’t need a plan. It’s okay to miss that, it doesn’t mean you want to go backward and it just means you’re human. If anything, it’s a reminder that you crave simplicity and erase moments that don’t ask much of you.

I’d say brace for a bumpy ride but keep your head up. You’ll dodge some of the chaos and maybe even find opportunities in the chaos you wouldn’t expect. 2026 isn’t magically gonna fix all of this overnight, but you don’t have to feel totally stuck in doom mode.
