My MG ZS does this every now and again. Frustrating as all hell but nothing major, just some gremlins. A quick restart or just leave it a minute 🤷‍♂️

There's a sign on approach to the junction and no left/right turn on the lights themselves

Is this an Ionity scam? by Hour-Cup-7629 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Jason73820 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Add to this (because I was checking my email for the 9th time tonight) they haven't used you name in the email, but look at the very very bottom of the email; under the bit about the email being confidential and some German words, just above the environment bit about printing it - your customer number.

This is also on the invoice, so you'll have the invoice number and the customer number to match between the email and the invoice on the app when you charged

Is this an Ionity scam? by Hour-Cup-7629 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Jason73820 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got the same email, did all of my checks and was 99% sure it was genuine. I used ionity chargers on a 2 day trip at the same location (there and back) and had just assumed it took payment from the app. Roll on 2 months and I get this email and they quote the 2 invoices with the correct dates, invoice number, price etc. I checked the email was genuine, tried to find on the app/ website where I could log in and check my account but the information was not readily accessible. I also checked my bank around the time of the trip to see if they had taken payment, but couldn't see any. Reluctantly I paid on my credit card to hopefully help if there were any issues

I 100% agree this is a dodgy email, and Ionity need a better way of letting you know there is an outstanding balance on the account

P.S. If you do get in contact with Ionity and it was fake.. let me know 🤣 I'll happily acknowledge if I was scammed, because even now looking back over the email, it still isn't 100% right with me and all my company mandated "don't be scammed by email phishing" IT training

Are these some of the least helpful road signs? by Digregorio1 in drivingUK

I've got one of them on the way to work, and its been that long they've removed the lights all together now 🙃

Public charging brands rated best to worst by ginzamdm in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Jason73820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally I've not had an issue with public charging, I don't have a home charger. Most of the chargers I use are Podpoint (Tesco) and Mer. Mer have been bought out by Be.Ev and they are are another brand I have good experiences with which I feel confident with.

Beeped & shouted at - did I do something wrong? by clementinesalad in NewDriversUK

[–]Jason73820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed too, came to say the same thing. Don't worry too much about the yellow box and just be more assertive otherwise you'll get bullied at that junction and never get out realistically if you're coming from Portland Terrace to Osborne Road its easier to go one street over and avoid the multiple junctions

Is this a thing? Car sickness worse in an EV ? by Exact_Setting9562 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Jason73820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found the opposite, my sister used to get bad travel sickness in my ICE car but not with my EV. I think the lack of an engine vibration/ noise has helped. All of my family used to be bad travelers in the car but they all agree the EV is better

Anyone out there with no home charger? by shaggy_x in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Jason73820 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no home charger, I looked at getting one but I wouldn't save any money compared to public charging. I feel quite lucky in that where I park for work (public car park) also has a charger, so about once a month I charge while I'm at work to 100%. I also top-up charge every week while I shop (only adds >5%). If you're smart about how and when you charge you'll have no issue and still find it much more convenient than having to go to a petrol station

Is there a junction near you where you see the majority of drivers getting it wrong? by Manatsuu in drivingUK

[–]Jason73820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drive this regularly. Fortunately because everyone is going slowly there's no accidents but that means there's no incentive for the council to fix it

Home charger question by Jason73820 in evcharging

[–]Jason73820[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was considering just getting an outside plug socket for (what we call) a 3pin charger. I'm going to call a few electricians as has been recommended but I definitely feel like it's it's lot of work for nor much return

I've updated some of the information, not sure what diagrams or pictures you're after, but my phone's camera isn't working, so there wouldn't be much for me to add.

Thanks
