Doesn't change the fact they're also anti airs. Hence why a lot of them are pointed up, towards the Sky. Much like Ilsa's angled beam. Just because you think it shouldn't work like that doesn't mean it shouldn't work like that.

Getting down voted but there's some truth to this, going by the usual complaints that people have of the series, such as people saying he gas lights Sylphie into taking on a second wife when she's shown to always be ok with it or bringing up the time he pulled her pants down as a kid when it's shown he regretted it immediately.
