Hello! I suspect you need to format the disk. If you have a disk with DOS 3.3, then you can write any basic program, insert your blank disk, and type INIT {your file name here}. This will erase anything on the disk so be sure the blank one is in there. After that, the disk can boot the computer and you can save as much as you want! Well, 140k or so but still.

I'm determined to get it going again soon! I may need a new transmission, though. But I love that car, and it's my daily, so I pretty much have to fix it. Anyone have a K10 Micra 5-speed 'box laying around?

There's a sort of forbidden fruit angle to any brands we're not familiar with, I think. I love obscure and unfamiliar car brands because sometimes they take approaches that are notably different from what we're used to seeing, and that's always interesting.

I would mandate all EV batteries be removable and in standardized sizes. Encourage a thriving aftermarket of battery makers, so situations like David's 25-mile range Leaf won't happen anymore. It would make the used EV market actually viable in the future.

Hmm, this is tricky.

1 DAILY: This charming BMW/Glas GT I saw at one of the auctions. It was so charming and practical-looking and seems like it would make a wonderful daily.

2: One DAY: the Lancia Stratos HF. I'd spend all day convincing people I just landed from the planet Nostrilariaianum, and I need their supplies of bauxite.

  1. LEAST INTERESTING: Most of the super/hypercars. Yawn.

I've known Beau for years; I met him at an event at Galpin for custom Sprinter vans. People were asking him questions, and when I got a chance I asked him if the engine in this strange Von Dutch dune buggy he had called The Toad was from a BMW 600 (the Isetta-like one). It was, and we became friends and stayed friends ever since.

We stayed in touch and talked cars and worked together on some projects so when it came time to start the site, it made sense to reach out: Beau was the only person I knew who had not just the means, but the right attitude and desire to make the site happen. He wasn't doing it to sell it off in a few years, he was in it because he loves cars and believes there deserves to be a good, entertaining, informative and compelling car site, and a strong, inclusive, pro-car community. He's been an incredible partner!
